About the Trainer

Ann Tarvin of Balanced Paws offers canine massage services designed to improve dogs’ physical wellness, reduce pain, enhance mobility, and strengthen the human-dog bond. Her practice is rooted in Healing Touch for Animals® and techniques learned from Jonathan Rudinger at the PetMassage Training and Research Institute. She holds Practitioner and Instructor Level Certificates in Dog Massage and a Certificate in WaterWork for dogs. Massage sessions are tailored to each dog’s daily needs and are especially beneficial for puppies (to build trust and ease growth tension), adults (to maintain wellness), and seniors (to reduce pain and maintain mobility). Ann also offers a class called Introduction to Dog Massage, currently paused due to COVID-19. She is a member of the International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork and has been published in Massage Magazine. While her primary service is massage, she is listed under dog training and offers related wellness support that complements behavioral and physical training. Ann’s approach empowers owners to better understand their dogs’ needs through touch and observation.

Ann also provides massage services for people through Balanced Pause Massage, and is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.

She works with dogs of all ages and sizes, focusing on comfort, circulation, flexibility, and body awareness. Her work helps detect early signs of injury or illness and supports veterinary care. Ann’s passion is making dogs happy, and she often creates homemade treats for her own three dogs.
