Dog Training Boca Raton – Matt Welch

Programs are intensive and personalized, beginning with a detailed evaluation of the dog’s genetics, instincts, and behavior triggers. Matt develops a custom plan using unique, instinct-driven games developed by Ivan Balabanov to redirect natural behaviors into constructive, self-reinforcing activities.

Training is conducted one-on-one, with the owner involved in the process to ensure long-term success. The goal is to build a bonded partnership where the dog chooses to obey because they love the activity, not because of treats or fear.

Follow-up guidance is provided to maintain results.

Matt Welch is a certified dog trainer based in Boca Raton, FL, specializing in solving severe leash pulling, reactivity, aggression, and other behavior issues by tapping into a dog’s innate genetics and instincts. He is the only trainer in South Florida certified by 2x IGP World Champion Ivan Balabanov, having trained under him in person since 2015 at his 10-acre facility.

Matt developed the “Force Of Nature” approach, which uses unique, instinct-based games instead of treats or force to build a dog’s confidence and create a shared purpose between dog and owner. His method eliminates the need for external rewards by making training itself the reward, resulting in happy, obedient dogs that listen reliably in high-distraction environments.

He trains dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages, including those deemed “untrainable” by other methods, and personally handles every dog he accepts—no assistants or untrained staff. He emphasizes emotional well-being and dignity for the dog, ensuring training is not just effective but also joyful for the dog and owner alike.

Matt does not offer group classes, boarding, or day training; instead, he provides personalized, intensive training programs tailored to each dog’s genetic drives and the owner’s needs. He focuses exclusively on behavior modification and relationship-building, helping owners regain control and enjoyment in their daily walks and home life. His clients often report dramatic transformations after years of failed attempts with other trainers.

He does not offer grooming, boarding, walking, or other pet services beyond direct dog training and behavior modification.
