About the Trainer

Help Your Hound, owned by Jack Cunniff, offers private in-house dog training and behavioral consultations in the greater Hartford area. The business focuses on training both the dog and the owner, providing clients with the information needed to continue training their dog effectively.

They utilize balanced training techniques, identifying what motivates a dog (food, toys, praise) and using it alongside traditional methods, including corrections when necessary. The curriculum can be modified to meet specific needs, covering basic commands like Leash Walking, Sit, Down, Come, Look/Watch, Leave It, Stay, and alternative commands like Heel or Stand.

Help Your Hound also assists with managing common behaviors such as chewing, nipping, and barking. For more severe issues like aggression or separation anxiety, they can provide assistance, acknowledging these may require additional time or resources.
