IBS Canine Training

Group classes include Puppy Beginner (6 weeks), Puppy Refresher (4 weeks), Beginner II (6 weeks), and Canine Good Citizen prep (6 weeks), each building on basic obedience and distraction work. Private lessons and semi-private lessons for one to three dogs are available for owners who need one on one attention or a schedule outside the group class times, and Wednesday field trips give enrolled dogs practice in public, real world settings.

Policies

Dogs must be current on all vaccinations to attend class, and owners are asked to bring a 4 or 6 foot leash (no retractable leashes), vaccination records, and small treats. Field trips are limited to dogs currently enrolled in or having completed a class with the business.

IBS Canine Training offers group classes, private lessons, and Canine Good Citizen preparation for dog owners in Arlington, Monroe, Snohomish, and the surrounding Washington communities. Classes are held at locations including French Creek Pet Resort in Snohomish and Co-op locations in Mount Vernon and Arlington, with six week sessions scheduled to fit different weekly routines.

Their group program runs from a Puppy Beginner foundation class through Puppy Refresher and Beginner II, building basic manners, loose leash walking, come when called, and longer stay work into more reliable commands around distractions. A Canine Good Citizen prep class walks dogs and owners through the ten steps of the AKC CGC test over six weeks, with Puppy Beginner I as a prerequisite.

Private lessons give owners one on one time to focus on specific goals, including public access work in dog friendly areas for social skills or a nervous dog that needs a calmer setting to start. Field trips, held on Wednesdays, take enrolled dogs into real world spots like parks and shopping centers to practice behavior around people, other dogs, and everyday distractions.

Trainers work with more than one training method and adjust their approach if a particular technique isn’t working for a dog or handler. The business has more than ten years of experience in dog training and behavior modification, and also carries training treats, toys, gentle leaders, and easy-walk harnesses.
