Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Balanced Training

Equipment:

  • Pinch Collars
  • E-Collars
  • Flat Collars

The Board & Train program is an intensive, in-home experience where dogs stay with the trainer in a “crate & rotate” environment, interacting directly with the trainer and their personal dogs. It is geared towards dogs with behavioral issues (reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression) or those needing e-collar training for off-leash reliability. Dogs must be at least 6 months old, up-to-date on vaccinations, and at least somewhat crate and potty trained. Owners receive weekly video updates, a comprehensive pick-up session covering techniques and tools, and extensive post-program support including follow-up lessons. All training tools (except a crate) are included.

Private Lessons are one-on-one sessions conducted at the trainer’s home in Nashville, MI, typically lasting 1-1.5 hours weekly. These sessions are part hands-on training and part consultation, covering various topics and issues. Training equipment and tools (excluding a crate) are included with each package. Behaviors like reactivity, anxiety, fear, and aggression are permitted but may incur higher pricing.

Consultations are offered via Zoom or FaceTime for professional opinions, simpler questions, or virtual coaching, priced at $75 per hour. Group Classes are seminar-style settings (3-4 hours long) with one-on-one and group help. Boarding is typically reserved for past training clients, offering a safe, private, and quiet environment for dogs, including those with issues.

About the Trainer
