Board and Train is the main format. The 2 Week Foundation covers sit, down, place, heel, loose-leash and off-leash walking, recall around distractions, greeting manners, and door manners, while the 4 Week Elite and 5 Week Complete give dogs more time to build lasting habits. The 5 Week Complete also includes an AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
Behavior modification Board and Train runs in 4, 8, and 10 week formats for minor, moderate, and severe needs, including dogs with a bite history. A 12 lesson behavior modification program and therapy dog preparation, as lessons or a 4 week Board and Train, are also offered.
Private lessons come in basic, advanced, and in-home packages, and group classes include a basic program plus an advanced program with pack walks and prep for vet and grooming visits. Every Board and Train ends with a 2 to 3 hour hands-on turnover session where the owner learns each command with the trainer.

Testimonials
Our Rocky boy came back to us the same sweet boy but now he has manners! So thankful for all the work my trainer did! She kept us updated daily and has continued to keep in touch even though he’s already been home for a few weeks.
– Hannah K.
We took our yellow lab Sky here when he was 20 weeks, and we opted to do the 2 week board and train with our trainer. She did an exceptional job with him, and we’re 4 months post training and Sky is still perfect and well behaved!
– Caiti W.
I brought my 5 month old defiant German Shepherd puppy (Abbie) to our trainer and did the two week board and train. She did an amazing job teaching Abbie good manners, heel, place, off, and many other commands.
– Janell C.
After each session he would come home with more confidence, not to mention manners. He loved going to class and he definitely loved my trainer!
– Carlson K.
About the Trainer
Off Leash K9 Training of Spokane is a dog training company serving Spokane, Spokane Valley, Coeur d’Alene, and the wider Eastern Washington and North Idaho region. It is the local location of Off Leash K9 Training, a national company with more than 130 locations, and it is owned by Danna and Trey Campo.
Danna found Off Leash K9 Training in 2016 as a client, when her two young black Labs needed help with their manners, and she trained under the Richmond, Virginia head trainer before bringing the program home to Spokane. She is an AKC Evaluator with continuing education in behavior modification and scent detection.
Trey is a retired firefighter and paramedic with more than 20 years of service, and he runs the business side. The team also includes head trainer Erica and senior trainer Brenna, both AKC Evaluators, and trainer Krysta, who pursued a master’s in animal health and behavior.
Training uses a balanced approach that combines marker training, positive reinforcement, and e-collar work for dogs five months and older. Younger puppies start with clicker and treat training, and every program works toward reliable on- and off-leash obedience out on trails, at the lake, and around real distractions.
Options include Board and Train, private and in-home lessons, group classes, behavior modification for fearful, reactive, or aggressive dogs, and therapy dog preparation for Pet Partners testing. Every new client starts with a free phone consultation so the team can recommend the right program for the dog.
Accomplishments
Danna, Erica, and Brenna are AKC Evaluators, and Danna and Erica have continuing education in behavior modification for aggression, anxiety, and reactivity, plus scent detection. The 5 Week Complete Board and Train includes an AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
The Off Leash K9 Training system was built by founder Nick White, a former US Marine and Secret Service agent who holds two off-leash obedience world records.

In Their Own Words
Their Training Philosophy
I believe every dog can learn with clear guidance, patience, and regular practice. Every dog is different, so I adjust my training based on their behavior, personality, and needs. I use a balanced training approach that includes positive reinforcement, clear communication, and proper training tools when needed. My goal is to help dogs become well-behaved, confident, and obedient while building a stronger bond with their owners. I also believe owners play an important role in keeping their dog’s training consistent at home.
A Tough Case They Solved
One challenging case involved a dog that was very reactive around other dogs and difficult to control on walks. The dog would pull on the leash, bark, and struggle to stay calm around distractions. I focused on basic obedience, leash manners, and helping the dog respond better to commands. With regular practice and clear guidance, the dog began showing better focus and calmer behavior during walks. I also worked with the owner to help them continue the training at home.
What New Clients Can Expect
New clients can start with a free phone consultation where we discuss their dog’s behavior, training needs, and goals. During the first training session, we get to know the dog and begin working on basic commands and good behavior based on the selected program. Training may take place at home or in another suitable location, depending on the program. I also guide owners on how to communicate clearly with their dogs and practice the training correctly. My goal is to help both the dog and owner feel comfortable and confident throughout the training process.
