Dog Training Methodology
Programs run mainly as multi-day board and train and Daycare & Train tracks. Board & Train comes in 14, 21, and 28 day Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced levels, with matching Behavior Modification and Puppy Training tracks at the same lengths. Shorter Daycare & Train options target one skill at a time, including The Perfect Walk, Structured Fetch, Off-Leash Foundations, Structured Socialization, Impulse Control, Confidence Building, and a custom track. Private lessons are also available. Every program includes owner transfer coaching and a home maintenance plan, and progress is measured by calmer responses and safer real-world handling rather than an instant fix.

About the Trainer
Tampa Bay Canine Retreat is a private, home-based dog training and boarding retreat in Lutz, Florida, owned and run by husband-and-wife team Jeremy and Amber Lynn. They keep the operation deliberately low-volume so every dog gets personal attention in a calm household setting rather than a crowded commercial kennel. Services include board and train, puppy training, behavior modification, Daycare & Train, leash training, overnight boarding, dog daycare, and SpaW grooming add-ons.
Their approach is built on structure and consistency: clear routines, repeated practice in a controlled environment, controlled exposure to triggers, replacement behaviors, and practical handling skills owners can carry over at home. Jeremy focuses on obedience, leash manners, behavior modification, and real-world reliability. Amber focuses on puppy work, early structure, crate and potty routines, confidence building, and socialization. Programs are matched to each dog’s age, temperament, history, safety needs, and the family’s goals, and reactivity, anxiety, or bite-history cases start with an evaluation that prioritizes safe management and realistic progress.
Owners receive regular photo and video updates, training homework, and transfer coaching so the results hold once the dog goes home. The property has a large fenced yard, dedicated indoor space, orthopedic beds, a splash pad, and an obstacle course, and capacity is capped at 15 daycare dogs and 9 overnight boarders at a time. Proof of current Bordetella, DHPP, and Rabies vaccinations is required.
How to Get Started!
New clients start with a free 15 to 20 minute Transformation Session by phone, covering the dog’s behavior, triggers, household routines, prior training, safety history, and what success would look like. The family then receives a recommended next step, such as private lessons, Daycare & Train, board and train, puppy training, or behavior modification. Some dogs need an in-person Meet & Greet evaluation before enrollment. Booking is handled online.
In Their Own Words
Their Training Philosophy
Structure creates stability. We teach for real life, not temporary session performance, using clear communication, calm repetition, consistent routines, controlled exposure, practical obedience, and owner follow-through. Each program is matched to the dog’s age, temperament, history, safety needs, and the family’s goals. For reactivity, aggression, anxiety, or bite-history cases, we begin with an evaluation and prioritize safe management and realistic progress.
A Tough Case They Solved
To protect client privacy, we describe challenging work without identifying the dog. One of the most demanding patterns we address is established leash reactivity, anxiety, and poor impulse control that makes daily walks feel unsafe. We first evaluate history and triggers, then build stability through structured routines, controlled exposure, replacement behaviors, leash engagement, and careful progression. The owner receives transfer coaching and a home-maintenance plan. We measure success by calmer responses, safer handling, and greater real-world reliability, not an instant-fix promise.
What New Clients Can Expect
New clients start with a free 15 to 20 minute Transformation Session by phone. We discuss behavior, triggers, household routines, prior training, safety history, and what success looks like. The family receives a personalized recommended next step: Private Lessons, Daycare & Train, Board & Train, puppy training, or behavior modification. Some dogs require an in-person Meet & Greet before enrollment. Programs include clear expectations, regular progress communication, and owner transition guidance.
