The Canine Nexus

Private Coaching runs as structured packages: a Core Relationship program (6 coaching blocks), an Advanced Relationship program (8 blocks), and 7-week or 9-week Reliability Intensives that add weekly trainer pick-up and drop-off immersion. Each coaching block runs two to three hours. Trainer-led Hybrid programs combine day training with owner transfer sessions. Board and Train options run four to eight weeks in three tracks: Puppy Foundation, On and Off-Leash Obedience and Reliability, and Behavior Modification for reactivity, over-arousal, anxiety, and fearfulness. Additional programs cover Puppy Head Start development, off-leash freedom work, AKC training tracks, and shelter and rescue support.

Private Coaching packages are published on the website: the Core Relationship program (6 coaching blocks, 9 total touchpoints) is $895; the Advanced Relationship program (8 blocks, 12 touchpoints) is $1,120; the 7-Week Reliability Intensive (16 touchpoints) is $1,295; and the 9-Week Advanced Reliability Intensive (20 touchpoints) is $1,695. Board and Train and hybrid program pricing is quoted after the free evaluation. The initial comprehensive evaluation is free and carries no obligation to enroll.

Policies

Every program begins with a free comprehensive evaluation lasting roughly two to four hours, covering behavioral observation, training history, home routines and triggers, and a public assessment under distraction. Completing an evaluation does not obligate enrollment. Board and Train spaces are limited and include training tools plus owner transfer sessions. Private Coaching clients receive email and text support between sessions, a customized written training plan, and video review feedback. The business carries professional insurance.

The Canine Nexus provides professional dog training and behavior modification for families across Asheville, Waynesville, and Western North Carolina. Founder and lead trainer Noah Benbow opened the business in 2019 after nearly a decade working in dog training, animal rescue, shelter operations, and community program development across the region. Training is built around a whole-dog approach that accounts for genetics, fulfillment, learning, communication, environment, and relationship rather than treating behavior as a set of isolated commands.

Programs address leash reactivity, fear and anxiety, over-arousal, impulse control, excessive barking, and everyday obedience, with a strong emphasis on reliability that holds up outside the lesson. Skills are proofed in the places dogs actually live: neighborhoods, trails, parks, breweries, and public spaces throughout the mountains of Western North Carolina. Owners are coached alongside their dogs so the results transfer and last.

Options range from private coaching packages and trainer-led hybrid day training to multi-week board and train immersion programs, puppy development, and advanced off-leash reliability work. The Canine Nexus also runs shelter and rescue support programs, partnering with shelters, foster-based rescues, and adoption programs across the region to improve behavioral outcomes and adoption success.
