About the Trainer

REACH K9 is a dog training business founded by Bridgette Ashmore, offering positive, game-based training that focuses on building strong, respectful relationships between dogs and their guardians. They emphasize teamwork, communication, and understanding canine behavior through science-backed, force-free methods. Their programs are customized to fit each dog and owner’s unique needs, with services available both in-person and virtually. The team includes certified trainers with diverse backgrounds in service dogs, dog sports, and grooming, ensuring comprehensive support. They also provide free training tips and educational resources to help owners learn how to read their dog’s body language and communicate effectively. In addition to training, they offer professional dog grooming through instructor Carter, making them a holistic resource for dog owners.

REACH K9 serves Central Virginia, including Powhatan, Chesterfield, Richmond, Henrico, and surrounding areas, with virtual options available nationwide. Their training philosophy centers on respect, education, achievement, challenge, and healing—helping dogs overcome fear, build confidence, and improve behavior through positive reinforcement and play-based learning.

They are certified, insured, and bonded, and pride themselves on treating every dog like family while educating both the dog and the owner as a team.
