At all times, we want to educate dog owners about everything they need to know about training a dog so that you can raise them with the best care possible.

As an independent platform, we try to provide as much information as we can, including pricing, testimonials, Google ratings, professional certifications and accomplishments, training methods and philosophies, service offerings, private lessons vs group classes, dog types, and problem-area specializations.

A few years ago, my wife and I brought home an anxious rescue dog with a heart of gold and a hunger for destroying our household items! I knew he needed a professional trainer to help him chill out when we left, stop eating our shoes, and actually follow our commands.

But when I started searching, I was confused and overwhelmed. I saw a dozen acronyms after trainers’ names: KPA-CTP, CTC, CPDT-KA, etc. I had no idea what they meant or which was “better.”

It was the first time I had heard of “positive-only” or “force-free” techniques. Pricing was a mystery, with some trainers charging by the hour and others requiring long-term packages upfront.

It would have been nice to have one place where I could see all my options. I wanted to understand the different training philosophies, see what the certifications actually meant, and compare services without making 10 different phone calls.

In the end, we learned about positive reinforcement and chose that approach for our precocious rescue dog, and so now our own personal philosophy centers around promoting force-free training methods.

Since there wasn’t a place that brought together education on the various methods, certifications, and dog trainer profiles all in one site, as a web designer, I decided to build it!

Meet the Founder

I’m Joe Fletcher, the founder of Goody Doggy. For over 15 years, I’ve been a passionate dog owner, and through my digital marketing agency, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with dog trainers.

This unique perspective as both a client and a service provider showed me the gap that needed filling – a single resource built on trust and transparency for both sides. My experience with my own dog and my dog trainer clients was the final push I needed to create a solution for dog owners everywhere.
