Testimonials
Sean and Kaimana are amazing at what they do. First of all, they are total dog lovers, and they bring such incredible energy to their sessions. We brought both of our dogs in for some sessions with them, and in addition to the fact that our dogs clearly loved them, they had knowledge that blew past what is generally taught in basic dog obedience courses. A Pet Perspective helped us to understand the needs of our dogs to not only help us manage some of their quirks, but also to help our dogs have happier, more fulfilling lives. It’s a win for the humans and the pups. They are very attentive and thorough during the sessions, and they offered helpful strategies and valuable advice that my husband and I continue to use today with our fuzzy companions. I recommend A Pet Perspective without hesitation.

I can’t say enough about my experience with Sean. It’s easy for me to connect with his style of training because I feel like he’s actually training me to be a better guide for Riley. I so appreciate his home visit. It allowed him to meet the Riley and me in our own environment. I also like the fact that he explains the theory behind the dogs behavior because it helps me to understand what I’m reacting, or not reacting, to, in my sessions with Riley. A Pet Perspective location has been awesome and I so appreciate the fact that he actually has a facility set up allowing you to interact, as well as train your dog in a safe environment. I really connected to Sean’s style of teaching, and Riley greatly has benefited from it. I feel more confident and have an even stronger relationship with her.

Our husky has received incredible training from Sean since he was a puppy and the result is a focused and engaged off leash adventure partner. If you know anything about the husky breed, their natural inclination is quite the opposite and Ruger is totally locked in with us. Couldn’t do it without you guys.

About the Trainer
A Pet Perspective, LLC is a dog training business based in Waimanalo, Hawaii, that empowers dog owners by teaching them to understand their dog’s perspective through canine psychology and positive reinforcement methods. They specialize in resolving problem behaviors such as aggression, separation anxiety, leash pulling, resource guarding, and fearfulness, using science-based, least intrusive, and minimally aversive techniques. Their approach focuses on building trust and strengthening the bond between dogs and their owners. They offer in-home evaluations and training sessions across the entire island of Oahu, as well as private sessions at their facility in Waimanalo. They never use e-collars or aversive tools, and their training is tailored for all dog sizes, breeds, ages, and backgrounds—including rescues, senior dogs, and high-energy working breeds. They also provide puppy training, advanced obedience, and behavior modification programs designed to create well-adjusted, confident dogs.
Their team includes a Canine Behavioral Psychologist who conducts initial 2-hour in-home evaluations to diagnose behavioral issues and create customized plans. They utilize dogs from their own pack for supervised socialization during puppy training, helping puppies acclimate to real-world environments in Waimanalo. Clients receive ongoing support, practical tools, and education on dog body language and behavior to ensure long-term success.
They also offer boarding services through Kai, who is trusted to care for dogs while owners are away, and provide specialized training for life transitions such as moving, travel, or welcoming a new baby.
Accomplishments
Trainers have successfully helped dogs with severe aggression, anxiety, and behavioral issues—including cases where dogs were deemed untrainable—achieving lasting results through science-based, humane methods. Clients report dramatic improvements in dog behavior and owner confidence, with many noting the trainers’ deep understanding of canine psychology and ethical approach.
How to Get Started!
Begin by requesting an in-home initial evaluation, a 2-hour session where a Canine Behavioral Psychologist assesses the dog’s behavior in the home environment, identifies root causes of issues, and creates a personalized training plan. This evaluation is required for all new clients before starting any training package.
