With over 40 years of experience, Joe specializes in positive, balanced methods and has trained over 1,500 dogs, including competition-level working dogs with multiple IPO III titles. Services include puppy training, basic and advanced obedience, board and train programs, detection work, and service dog preparation. Joe also provides in-home and facility-based training, with a focus on building strong owner-dog bonds through science-based, humane techniques. Additional services include pet boarding and detection dog certification. His training philosophy emphasizes compassion, consistency, and results-driven outcomes tailored to each dog’s needs.
Joe has trained dogs for police, military, and commercial detection roles, including explosive and bed bug detection, and has competed at national and international levels. He is known for his expertise with high-energy and fearful dogs, helping families achieve calm, well-mannered pets through structured programs and owner education.

Accomplishments
Joe Moldovan has trained over 1,500 dogs over 40+ years, earned multiple IPO III titles with competition dogs, placed in top 12 at the National Schutzhund Championship, and achieved the highest protection score (98/100) in regional and national events. His dogs have appeared in TV, film, and commercials. He served as Training Director for the Allgemeiner Schutzhund Club of Long Island and on the Board of Directors for USA Schutzhund.

Client engagement begins with a free consultation, preferably by phone. After discussing needs, clients choose between private lessons, group classes, or a board-and-train program. Training starts with an evaluation of the dog’s behavior and goals.
