Testimonials
“I have been a client at Alpha Dog for over six years and highly recommend Christina and her entire team of trainers. I’ve taken classes ranging from puppy Kindergarten through the advanced classes and always had a great experience with my two dogs. I appreciate the balanced approach to training and understanding how I can improve as a handler to set my dog up for success. Class was a great way to learn new things and ask questions so that I could go home and practice during the week to continue building the bond and trust with my dogs. I’m so appreciative for all the things I’ve learned here and it shows in how my dogs and I work together as a team.”

“Christina is excellent with our German Shepherd mix. She works with me and my husband and the training is all about us. Our dog is brilliant and we have so much to learn. I’ve seen her interact with all kinds of dog breeds and all kinds of people. She offered me excellent advice when dealing with family and friends dogs. I’ve worked with two other trainers and Christina is the best.”
– Client
“My mom and i were referred to this business by a friend because they were local, and we signed up. Of important note is that I am autistic so i need more help with complex tasks than most people. Christina and her assistant were not helpful at all when i asked for help during the classes, and at some points she was yanking our dog’s leash so hard that he had his tail between his legs because he was afraid of her. I was not having success with her methods as they often relied on pulling on the leash, again, leading to our dog being afraid and resistant. Every week during our classes there was one less person, likely due to Christina’s extremely rough methods. Her demeanor was extremely hostile and i found myself crying on multiple occasions due to lack of support and ridicule when trying to train my dog. Training methods for police dogs is not the same as training methods for domestic household pets. We did not get a refund for the classes we didn’t attend. I ended up opting to train my dog myself through gentler methods and have had FAR more success.”

About the Trainer
Alpha Dog K9 Training is a professional dog training business founded in 1999 by Christina Taddei, a certified dog trainer with over 20 years of experience. They offer group classes and private training at their dedicated two-room, air-conditioned facility in Medway, MA, catering to dogs from puppyhood through advanced obedience. Their unique approach is balanced training, using both positive reinforcement and corrections—including martingale, prong, and E-collars—tailored to each dog’s needs. Classes are small to ensure personalized attention, and they emphasize building a strong bond between dog and handler through practical, real-life skills like loose-leash walking, recall, and polite greetings. They also provide AKC certifications including STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, and Therapy Dog preparation. In addition to training, they breed and sell purpose-bred Standard Poodles and Lancashire Heelers, offering a six-week training course with every purchased puppy.
Their team includes certified trainers specializing in obedience, nosework, breed handling, and puppy kindergarten, all of whom are active evaluators for AKC programs. They partner with local veterinary, chiropractic, and grooming services to support holistic dog care.
While some clients praise their results and expertise, others have criticized their methods as harsh and unresponsive to individual needs, particularly for sensitive or autistic handlers.
Accomplishments
Christina Taddei has been training since 1999 and is an AKC evaluator for Star Puppy, CGC, Farm Dog, Temperament, and Tricks. She is a certified member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and the North American Police Working Dog Association. Her trainers are also AKC evaluators and certified in specialized areas like nosework and breed handling.
