Testimonials
“We have always had dogs, mostly sporting dogs. We have tried training, usually through pet stores, without much success. Just recently we did something different and rescued a Dutch shepherd. We tried private training this time and went with Alpha Love Dog Training. Without a doubt, the best decision we could have made. Their knowledge of dog training and behavior is exceptional. Their facility is outstanding, so much so that we will also use them to board our dog. If you want to enjoy your dog at the next level, we highly recommend Alpha Love Dog Training.”

“Amanda and Garrett are both awesome! We took our newest dog to Amanda to help us with training back in January/February. She’s so knowledgeable and our dog loves her. The only problem we had with training is US. We’re still a work in progress. We just recently boarded our dog with them. I think she had a better vacation than we did. You can see clearly that they love what they do!”

“Alpha Love brings ALL the love to both training and boarding! I have used them as both my dog trainer and as a boarding facility and can highly recommend them for all of your canine needs. Amanda and Garrett treat my dog as if he were theirs, showing him all the love and respect they would give their own pets. They are great listeners and will tailor their training to YOUR dog and YOUR family’s needs. They even incorporated our teenaged children into the lessons so the whole family took ownership of our dog’s training journey.”

About the Trainer
Alpha Love Dog Training is a home-based, low-volume dog training business founded by Amanda and Garrett, who use reward-based, science-backed methods to help dog owners build trust and strengthen bonds with their pets. They specialize in behavior modification for aggression, fear, reactivity, and anxiety, avoiding all aversive tools like prong, pinch, or e-collars. Their services include private lessons, board and train programs, socialization classes, remote Zoom consultations, and 5-star in-home boarding with daily training and enrichment. They offer lifetime phone and email support to all clients and provide a complimentary matchmaking service for shelter dogs to reduce surrenders. Their facility is designed to be fear-free and low-stress, with hands-on experience gained from boarding hundreds of dogs in their home. They also offer Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification through AKC as evaluators.
They tailor training to each dog’s needs, involving the entire family in lessons to ensure consistency. Their unique approach includes off-leash group socialization opportunities, field trips for reactive dogs, and customized behavior treatment plans. They emphasize understanding canine body language, managing triggers, and treating the root cause of behavior issues through counter-conditioning and desensitization.
The team is passionate about ethical training and continues their education to stay current with research-based practices. They also train new trainers to expand their team and serve more families.
Accomplishments
Amanda began studying dog behavior in 2006 to save her own dog, Bongo, from aggression issues, leading to a professional career starting in 2013. She and Garrett have trained hundreds of dogs in their home-based facility, gaining expertise through hands-on boarding and continuous education. They are certified AKC CGC evaluators and have trained new trainers to join their team. Their facility is pet CPR/First Aid certified and equipped with security cameras.
How to Get Started!
Begin with a free 30-minute phone consultation to discuss your dog’s needs. If boarding or daycare is desired, schedule a $80 socialization/boarding prep class first. For behavior or obedience training, book a private lesson at their home-based facility. All new clients are encouraged to involve all household members in lessons for consistency.
