Testimonials

“Benji and Tilly met Anna January 7th. Through her board and train program, she concentrated on working through their anxiety, while building their independence and confidence. The last steps were obedience. Tilly was the least dependent on my mother, so it makes sense that she came home first. We had a 1-hour lesson with Anna to make sure we knew how to reinforce all she had learned before we took her home. Anna made to sure to let all of the family members work with her, explain rationales, and make sure we were comfortable going home. We practice regularly and I’m very proud that 4 months later, Tilly has retained all she learned with Anna! She gets excited for our practice sessions, she’s confident, and has a much better life now. We just picked up Benji and he’s a new dog. We had our 1-hour lesson with all of the family to make sure we are able to keep up with his training and keep him moving forward. We have a lot of work ahead of us as he settles into home again, but it’s well worth the effort. It’s so good to see them emotionally and physically healthy. We are forever grateful to Anna and cannot recommend her training highly enough.”

“The reason I chose Adelhorst Kennels, in the first place, was due to rave reviews from both my vet tech Jody and a coworker who sent her dog for the board and train program. I would give more than five stars if allowed! My dog just turned one the day before he went to his board and train program with Anna. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was told to expect miracles and that is what I got! Burke, the mini Bernedoodle, was turning into a highly reactive dog around other dogs, and starting to become that way with people he didn’t know. I tried all different kinds of things and nothing was helping! His behavior was causing me to be anxious and frustrated, which in turn, led to him being the same! I picked Burke up a week ago, had a two hour lesson with Anna and Burke before we came home so she could show me what to do. I admit, I was nervous that I was going to fail again. However, Anna was so patient with me, answered so many questions, and made me feel right at home. This last week at home with Burke by myself has been nothing but a complete turnaround for both of us and our relationship is so much stronger because of it! He’s a totally different dog, listens to me now, he is great with people, and most of all doesn’t bark at other dogs! He’s calmer, sleeps better, and pays attention to commands! I’ve text Anna a couple times with questions and she’s been more than helpful. We will keep our time at Adelhorst going with her obedience classes and I am excited for Burke’s future! Thank you, Anna and team for providing such a wonderful service at a beautiful facility with kind people!”

“I swear, Anna speaks ‘dog’ fluently. She is a fantastic individual, and her employees are top notch. Dogs are her life. She cares for our pups like they are her own. We’ve been loyal customers since she had her old facility in the Altoona area. When she told me that she’d be moving to Swan, it wasn’t even a question: we would drive to Swan so that our dogs can be boarded with her. While other facilities have the dogs inside all day, Anna has a large piece of land, so the dogs are able to go for walks and enjoy nature. Any time we tell our dogs that it’s time to go to Anna’s, they immediately run to the car. If you’re looking for a place to board your pups while you’re away, we can’t recommend them enough.”
