Testimonials
Great dog training! Jan is very knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviour. Her instructors are helpful and low key – making it a nice environment to train your dog. Incorporating some simple agility obstacles into the obedience class makes it interesting for both the dog & handler.

About the Trainer
Autumn Winds Agility Center is a dog training facility led by Jan Santel, an experienced instructor and owner with over 25 years of expertise in training all breeds of dogs. The center offers structured group classes in obedience and agility, ranging from beginner to competition levels, with a focus on positive training methods. Classes integrate basic manners, leash walking, sit, down, stay, recall, and agility obstacles, preparing dogs for AKC Canine Good Citizen certification and UKC agility competitions. Jan is an AKC and UKC Agility Judge and has helped students earn over 5,000 titles. The facility provides an open-enrollment system, allowing dog owners to start classes anytime, and emphasizes a low-key, supportive environment for both dogs and handlers.
Training programs are held at their facility and include specialized tracks for family dogs, competition agility, and obedience. They also offer AKC CGC and S.T.A.R. Puppy programs. All classes require current vaccination certificates, and dogs showing signs of illness must stay home. The center hosts UKC agility trials and encourages community involvement in dog sports.
While the facility focuses on training, it does not offer grooming, boarding, walking, or other pet services beyond training and competition events.
Accomplishments
Jan Santel has earned 140 AKC and UKC agility and obedience titles with her own dogs and has helped students achieve over 5,000 titles. She is an AKC and UKC Agility Judge, a Tester/Observer for Alliance of Therapy Dogs, and a certified trainer for the AKC CGC and S.T.A.R. Puppy programs. The center regularly hosts UKC agility trials, including events in 2024 and scheduled for 2026.
