The Basic Stay & Train covers essential commands like sit, stay, heel, and come. The Premiere program adds public distractions, socialization, and outdoor adventures. All programs include follow-up lessons to help owners maintain progress. Training is customized per dog’s breed, age, and behavioral goals.

Testimonials

We’ve been working with Rene for over three years now and truly couldn’t imagine having a dog without her guidance. We have a Cane Corso, and thanks to Rene’s training, he’s become the most well-behaved, balanced dog. Rene is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but she genuinely cares and it shows. We still send him to her throughout the year for refreshers, and she’s always offering helpful advice, even between sessions. If you’re thinking about getting a dog, do yourself (and your pup) a favor and call Rene. She’s the best there is!

Our Golden Retriever puppy Mia was in Joe’s 21 day board and train. To say he worked miracles is an understatement. Our sweet puppy was uncontrollable and we seriously thought about returning her to the breeder. She came back to us much calmer and keen to follow instruction. She is now 7 months old and we love her so much and so thankful we found Joe so she had the best start in life.

Highly recommend! We learned about Bandana Dog Training via a strong recommendation from a friend who sent their dog through the Stay and Train program. Lisa helped schedule the training to fit with our family’s summer plans. Joe has now trained both of our dogs through his Stay and Train program and it is amazing what a difference it has made for our family. During the training, Joe sent frequent updates and photos and was clear that our pups were safe, cared for, and happy. (In fact, they are more excited to see Joe than anyone else!). The training definitely improved our dogs’ behaviors and, more importantly, our communication with our dogs. We have continued to grow with his refresher classes and are able to confidently take our pups out and about and on road trips, which was one of our main goals. I wholeheartedly recommend Bandana Dog Training.

About the Trainer

Bandana Dog Training is a personalized dog training business based in Tucson, AZ, founded by Joseph Cisneros, a certified canine behavior specialist with over a decade of experience. They specialize in custom training programs designed to help dogs of all ages and breeds develop essential obedience skills and improve behavior in real-world settings. Their approach emphasizes building strong owner-dog bonds through compassionate, individualized instruction rather than one-size-fits-all methods. Services include in-home lessons, private park sessions, facility-based training, and immersive Stay & Train programs where dogs live with trainers in home environments. They offer advanced training in public spaces like parks, pet-friendly stores, and outdoor adventures to reinforce skills under distraction. Their team includes experienced trainers who use positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques, with a focus on practical family dog training rather than agility or vocational work.

They also provide introductory evaluations to assess each dog’s needs and recommend the best training path, along with refresher lessons for ongoing support. Clients appreciate the frequent updates, photos, and personal care provided during boarding programs, with trainers treating dogs as part of their own families.

The business is managed by Lisa, who handles customer relations and ensures a smooth client experience, while trainer Renee Moreno brings additional expertise in puppy behavior and canine health. All training is tailored to the dog’s personality, goals, and the owner’s lifestyle.

Bandana Dog Training does not offer grooming, boarding facilities, or pet retail services, but focuses exclusively on training and behavior modification.

They serve Tucson and surrounding areas, with flexible scheduling across weekdays and Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.

Renee Moreno is a certified member of IACP and began her training career under Joseph’s mentorship. Lisa holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management and manages client relations.

How to Get Started!

The first step is to schedule an Introductory Evaluation ($75), which includes a 45-minute in-person assessment of the dog’s behavior and goals. Based on this evaluation, the trainer recommends the best training path—whether private lessons, Stay & Train, or another option. Clients can contact via email or phone to begin.
