Classes start weekly with orientation on Monday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, or Thursday evenings. PuppyLove (8–18 weeks) focuses on socialization and basic manners. Basic Manners (18 weeks–18 months) builds obedience and impulse control. Advanced programs include competition obedience, rally, and agility. Detour Doggie Delinquent offers private and group sessions for dogs with aggression, fear, or reactivity. Workshops cover trick training, show handling, and special topics. Free playtime is included for PuppyLove graduates who maintain social skills.

I’ve known PJ and Best Paw Forward for 20 years now. From that first desperate phone call while our rescued puppy was peeing in the house, I was won over. We trained in agility and obedience (even though we never had the desire to show) and ended up with a wonderful dog. I love their Puppy Love classes especially, because after training and learning, the puppies have play time! It’s precious and so fun to watch, but it’s also really important for their socialization.
And there is so much offered for adult dogs or graduates of their Puppy Love and Basic Manners classes.

There’s even a monthly package that gives you a LOT of classes if you want to take them all (or if your schedule changes a lot, it gives you many opportunities to still make a class every week)!

AND if you aren’t able to pay the class prices, YOU CAN HELP OUT (there are so many different options) AND GET YOUR CLASSES FOR FREE OR AT LEAST A REDUCED PRICE! That really helped us out when we had our first puppy. I’ve never found anywhere else that has a bartering system.

Has made a huge difference already! I have just started puppy classes and the difference is amazing. Just the orientation class was incredibly valuable. I had to admit to myself that I was doing so many things wrong with my puppy and trying to fix everything with Google and YouTube but it wasn’t working. Just one session with PJ and my puppy was much happier, much less aggressive, more relaxed and free of anxiety. I was amazed and relieved! I can’t wait to see how she is when we’ve finished all 10 classes.
