BlueDog’s group training program operates like a gym membership, offering unlimited classes for a monthly fee. Dogs progress through age- and skill-specific levels, aiming for AKC Canine Good Citizen certification. The curriculum is based on positive reinforcement.

Private training is customized for individual goals, including puppy raising, basic manners, and behavioral concerns. Sessions can be in-home, via Zoom, or at their facilities.

They also offer specialized Control Unleashed classes to help dogs with distraction, arousal, anxiety, and impulse control, available in Foundations, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Specialty drop-in classes include Rally Run Thrus and Conformation Handling.

Pricing Summary

Group classes are $175 per month for unlimited access. Online private coaching is $135 for 1 hour of feedback (expires in 3 months) or $500 for 4 hours of feedback (expires in 6 months). Private training programs begin with a free phone consultation. A 30-minute consultation for walking/training evaluation is $50.

Policies

Online coaching feedback expires after 6 months for the 4-hour package and 3 months for the 1-hour package. BlueDog reserves the right to determine if a pup is suitable for walking.

Accomplishments

BlueDog was established in 2008 by owners Kimberly and Chris Palermo. Kim Palermo is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), a Certified Control Unleashed Instructor (CCUI), and a Level 1 TagTeacher, with over 10 years of professional training experience. Chris Palermo is also a CPDT-KA. The team has over 60 years of combined experience. Bridget Desroches is a CPDT-KA and Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) with over 20 years of professional training experience.

How to Get Started!

For group classes, clients join a monthly auto-renew membership and can begin as soon as they register. For private training, all programs start with a free phone consultation to determine suitability. For basic manners and behavioral concerns, an initial 45-minute Zoom consultation with a lead trainer is required to gather information, address concerns, and discuss goals, followed by an in-person session.
