Testimonials

Dan did such an awesome job helping us train our 7 month old mini doodle! He helped us teach Archie place (our person favorite), improve his walking skills, counter surfing and some fun tricks along the way. We highly recommend his training & we’re so glad we did it!
– Client

Dan is excellent to work with. He came out to our home, evaluated our pup, & gave us a clear plan to help us reach our goals. We are so happy to be working with him to get Nemo where we need him so he is always welcome by everyone when we bring him along on our adventures.
– Client

Dan does an amazing job with training dogs. After I heard praise of him from a few customers of mine, I decided to check him out myself. If your dog is acting up, being aggressive, or just needs some very basic instruction, Dan is the man to call. Highly recommended.

About the Trainer

BOND K9 Training, led by Dan Alix, offers personalized, balanced dog training services designed to build trust, communication, and dependability between dogs and their owners. Dan uses a fair, values-based approach that emphasizes clarity and engagement, helping dogs succeed whether they’re puppies learning basics or adults with behavioral challenges. Programs include Puppy & Adult Basic Obedience, Off-Leash Training, Behavior Modification, and Day Training, all delivered in a private lesson format. Dan’s background as a former police detective and his hands-on experience working with shelter dogs—including rescuing and rehabilitating dogs like Asher, who was scheduled for euthanasia—inform his compassionate, results-driven methods.

His training philosophy is rooted in the B.O.N.D. principles: improving Behavior, inspiring Obedience, instilling Neutrality, and increasing Dependability. He focuses on real-world reliability, using safe, effective tools to help dogs thrive in distracting environments. Dan’s approach is tailored to each owner’s goals and lifestyle, ensuring long-term success through structured, consistent communication.

Accomplishments

Dan completed the Master Dog Trainer Program and Advanced Internship at the Highland School for Dog Trainers. He worked alongside shelter trainers to modify behaviors in dogs at risk of euthanasia and successfully rehabilitated Asher, a German Shepherd scheduled for euthanasia. He also trained his own Belgian Malinois, Ekko, and has over 13 years of law enforcement experience, including work with canine units.

How to Get Started!

Client engagement begins with a FREE evaluation (valued at $135), which includes a home visit or on-site assessment to understand the dog’s behavior and the owner’s goals. After the evaluation, Dan creates a customized training plan and schedules sessions.
