Follow-up lessons focus on learning and practicing new skills. The training approach emphasizes understanding canine behavior, creating management plans to reduce unwanted behaviors, and developing training plans for desired behaviors. For example, recall training starts indoors with generous food rewards to teach the dog to come when called.

Pricing Summary

Initial one-hour consults are $125 and include handouts and an email or text recap. Follow-up lessons are $110.

As a certified Family Dog Mediator, the trainer helps clients understand the ethological basis for their dog’s behavior and meet their innate needs while also accounting for human needs. Accomplishments

Brilliant Pup is owned and operated by Emily Wolf, who holds multiple certifications including KPA-CTP, CPDT-KA, and FDM. Emily graduated from the Karen Pryor Academy and is a KPA Certified Training Partner.

She also holds a certificate as a Trainer and Behavioral Consultant from the Misha May Foundation in Denver. In 2021, she earned her certification as a Family Dog Mediator, learning the L.E.G.S. method. Emily has also completed Michael Shikashio’s Aggression In Dogs course and founded the Boulder-based non-profit Summit Dog Rescue in 2009.
