Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Balanced Training

The first step to getting started is registering for orientation, a one-time class for humans only. This class focuses on teaching how and why their training method works and answers any questions, helping clients decide if it’s a good fit.

Training programs include Level 1 (Fundamental Behavior), Level 2 (Basic Obedience), Level 3 (Advanced Obedience), Level 4 (Excellent Obedience), and Rally Obedience (Novice, Advanced, Excellent). Training options are Boarding School, where the dog lives in the trainer’s home for fast results; Home School, where the trainer comes to the client’s home to tackle difficult behaviors; Private School, offering one-on-one classes at their facility in Harrah, OK; and Group School, providing small group settings to improve a dog’s skills with more distractions.

Testimonials

“My wife and I saw her for our pit/boxer mix reactivity towards other dogs while on a leash. It is almost night and day between day one and the final day of class! She is really friendly and patient if there is anything you are having trouble with. Highly recommend! We paid about the same for a dog trainer at a pet store and we got better results in less visits.”
– Andrew Clements

“I highly recommend Stacey as a dog trainer. Her one-on-one training sessions taught us the tools to train our ‘problem child’ into a well-behaved dog. She explains the psychology behind her techniques which really helped us understand why our dog behaved certain ways and how to properly address and correct the behavior.”
– Derek Franseen

“I got so much more than I expected with this training. My 6 y/o dog “had” a behavioral problem with strangers. I travel everywhere with my dog and I was constantly stressed about her trying to bite someone to protect me. Now I can walk Carter right next to someone and not feel tensed up because of this trainer. Stacey is very professional and easy to work with. We took advantage of her board and train plus individual lessons as well. The part that I didn’t expect was a noticable improvement in my dog’s interaction with me. She had little motivation when trying to train her on my own because I didn’t understand subtle dog language. Now that I can pick up on her body language, she has become more attentive and listens when I call her name. She has quit running off and wants to be near us at all times. Working toward being off leash next. Thank you Stacey! You’re the best. Glad my husband found you. May God bless you!”
– Susan Sikes

About the Trainer

Stacey, the founder of Buddy’s Dog School, Inc., has a lifelong passion for animals, especially dogs. The school combines behavior and obedience training to create balanced dogs and achieve fast results. They use simple techniques for both corrections and praise, enabling quick learning and immediate improvement. Their methods are effective for dogs of all ages, breeds, and backgrounds, without relying on treats. Owners are actively involved in the training process and receive support to maintain training for their dog’s lifetime.

Buddy’s Dog School emphasizes teaching the psychology of dogs and their training philosophy, focusing on behavior first to address important manners. They teach dogs verbal language to build a foundation for off-leash reliability from the first class. The business also operates a pet supply store offering premium food (frozen raw, natural kibble, canned), bones, toys, beds, and quality training tools. They are veteran-owned and offer military discounts on any training program.

Accomplishments

Stacey, the founder, developed a love for animals from a young age. She began training her Border Collie, Buddy, at age 11 in late 2002, competing in AKC, ASCA, and UKC obedience trials across Oklahoma and Texas, earning titles through the highest levels. She also volunteered in the dog obedience world and shadowed at a vet clinic.

In 2007, Stacey trained her Australian Shepherd, Crush, who earned her first obedience title in less than two months and qualified for Top Ten nationals. They went on to earn titles in the Open and Utility classes in AKC and ASCA, placing 6th in the nation at ASCA nationals in 2008. During these years, Stacey gained respect from fellow trainers and assisted in teaching classes. After graduating high school in 2010, she enlisted in the Marines for four years, providing training classes for foster dogs in Okinawa and working under a seasoned trainer in Colorado. In 2015, Stacey established Buddy’s Dog School in Oklahoma, in memory of her first dog.
