Calibrated K9 offers foundational programs for adult dogs and puppies, as well as specialized working K9 and service dog training. Adult dog board and train programs focus on manners, practical obedience, and impulse control, including end-of-week take-home lessons for owners.
The Puppy Imprinting program is designed for puppies typically around 4 months old (after all shots), focusing on proper manners, impulse control, and real-life obedience. For advanced needs, they offer training for personal protection, scent detection, search & rescue, and service animals. Club nights for Bite Club and Tracking Club are available for those who have completed a board and train program, offering opportunities to learn drive building, bite development, decoying, and tracking skills.

Ben is an amazing dog trainer! I got a Dutch Shepherd puppy in the spring, thinking it would be as easy to train as my German. I was wrong! Each week she came back from Ben she showed so much improvement. When she started puppy imprinting she was wild, crazy, and choose when she would listen. Now that she’s completed imprinting and she’s absolutely amazing and all she wants to do is work (obey commands). Ben doesn’t just train dogs, he also teaches people how to better communicate with their K9 partner.

I have an 18 month old American pit bull terrier who (up until meeting Ben and going through his 5 week course) was unruly, mouthy, unsettled and unmannered. He didn’t flinch at the breed and not only accepted the challenge that my fiancé and I presented him with but excelled at doing what he says he can do. She came home well mannered, eager to please and a completely new dog behavior wise. He answered every question, was very patient with all 3 of us, is very knowledgeable in his field and couldn’t have been more kind. When I started looking around for a trainer, he took the time to answer the questions I had and showed a lot of humility and integrity when I asked about other trainers. I chose Ben because of his character and commitment. I was unsure of the tools he uses until he showed me how effective they are and how they are meant to be used and I believe that I learned as much, if not more, than our dog did. I’m grateful for him and that he has given me the tools to be a better human for my pup. I would recommend him and his program to anyone. If you follow his instructions and do the homework he provides then I believe you will be very satisfied with the outcome!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better training experience from Ben. He goes above and beyond as a trainer and is truly a professional at what he does. I knew exactly what I wanted from my dog, Jackson, but just didn’t have the understanding or knowledge to properly train him myself. Ben took the time to listen to my needs and put together a plan that worked wonderfully. He totally transformed Jackson’s behavior, ability to listen, and confidence in almost every situation. There was a huge difference just after the first week of training and it only got better. Ben came highly recommended to me and I’ve recommended him to others who have been equally as pleased. If you’re considering training for your dog, I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Calibrated K9 is a professional dog training business led by Ben Landkammer, a certified Top Tier K9 graduate. Ben’s passion for dog training was ignited by his first personal dog, Karhu, and he has since pursued extensive education in the field.
The business offers custom training packages for pet owners aiming to improve their relationship with their canine family members. Calibrated K9 provides personalized on-leash and off-leash obedience training, behavior modification, working K9 disciplines, and service dog training.
Their holistic training programs support owners before, during, and after board and train programs. Ben brings a unique perspective to training, combining his MBA, leadership, project management, and customer service experience with his dog training expertise. He regularly collaborates with other trainers and attends continuing education to evolve his capabilities. Ben is also part of the K9 unit for BUSAR, a backcountry search and rescue team, with his German Shepherd, Kato, and also has a Belgian Malinois for bitework.

How to Get Started!
To begin, clients can schedule a free evaluation, which can be conducted over the phone or in person. During this evaluation, the scope of training needs will be established, and a program recommendation will be discussed. Training spots are currently booking for February 2025 and beyond.
