Testimonials
California Canine has been amazing! My dog was showing aggression, especially during grooming, so we signed up for 4 private sessions every other week. From the very first lesson, the trainers were professional, knowledgeable, and supportive. They worked directly with me as well as my dog, giving me the tools I needed to reinforce good behavior at home. The improvement in just two months has been incredible — not only is my dog more manageable and confident, but I feel empowered knowing how to handle situations that used to be stressful. Their balanced, step-by-step approach made all the difference. I’m so grateful for their help and would recommend California Canine to anyone looking for real results with a dog that needs behavior support.

We’ve been bringing our puppy to California Canine for training since he was just 11 weeks old, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. The entire team–Ashley, Maegan, Timberly, and Ratna–are absolute gems. Their kindness, patience, and expertise have been invaluable as our pup has progressed through Puppy Pre-K, Puppy Manners, Obedience I, Agility, the Recall Workshop, and now Obedience II.
Each class has not only improved his skills but also built his confidence and strengthened our bond. It’s clear the trainers genuinely care about every dog and family they work with, and it shows in the supportive, fun environment they create.
We’re excited to continue our journey with California Canine for more training and adventures ahead! Huge thanks to the whole team–you are so appreciated!

We just started puppy classes. This facility is awesome! Clean, large indoor training area. The instructor was excellent. They train from puppy to adult. I was especially excited to see the agility equipment and find out that they train therapy dogs! And on top of all that, I can buy packs of lessons and attend the classes that work around my schedule! 5 stars all the way around!

About the Trainer
California Canine Dog Training is Monterey Bay’s premier dog training facility, offering force-free, positive reinforcement training for dogs of all ages and abilities. They provide group classes starting as early as 9 weeks for puppies, covering socialization, basic manners, obedience, agility, and Therapy Dog certification. Private one-on-one training is available for behavior modification, including leash reactivity, separation anxiety, fearfulness, and rescue dog support. Their philosophy centers on building strong owner-dog bonds through safe, enjoyable training that incorporates daily life situations. Classes are small, with obedience limited to 8 dogs and agility to 5, ensuring personalized attention. All training uses treats, toys, and praise—no prong collars, choke chains, e-collars, or spray bottles. They also offer workshops focused on specific skills like recall and loose leash walking, and their agility program reinforces obedience while providing mental and physical stimulation.
Their facility is clean and spacious, located in Pacific Grove, and they serve dog owners across the Monterey Bay area. Owners can purchase class packs of 5 or 10 sessions with flexible scheduling, and classes can be shared among sibling dogs. Training progresses based on demonstrated mastery, not fixed timelines, allowing dogs to advance at their own pace.
