About the Trainer
Canine Academy of the Carolinas is dedicated to helping dog lovers build a relationship of trust and well-being with their beloved family members, their dogs. They cater to all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and activity levels, offering training at the client’s location or their facility.
Their philosophy is that all dogs have the potential to be “Man’s Best Friend,” but some need more guidance. They aim to build training programs that fit family needs and enhance the dog’s potential. They specialize in starting new puppies with the correct foundation, assisting with housebreaking, and teaching leash walking.
Accomplishments
The trainer, Addison Gilliam, started as a hobby trainer in his early teens and interned at a well-known dog training kennel in the Piedmont of North Carolina during high school. He graduated early to attend vocational training at Tarheel Canine Training in Sanford, NC.
Beyond pet training, Addison trains dogs for police work and personal protection, with skills in bite-work, decoying, detection, scent work, and tracking. He is currently preparing his dog, Nyla, for the Protection Sports Association.
