Testimonials

“I have never met a professional who is so passionate about her work! Mikayla truly throws her all into her training and her work speaks for itself. She helped my incredibly anxious dog learn basic commands and great recall (something I could not do on my own with my level of patience, or lack thereof). He is so much more confident and truly enjoys learning and performing his new tricks. Now if I can’t keep up on his skills training, I know he’ll be booked at Canine Coach Academy for Round 2.”
– Allison M.

“Mikayla is so thoughtful in her process and makes sure that you and your pup are set up for success. She is a true dog whisperer! I am so pleased with the skills my sweet pup learned working with her. Look no further in your search!!”
– Ashlynn S.

“Mikayla has been fantastic. We have used her to board our Lab mix who tends to be stubborn, and he always is excited to go and is happy and relaxed when he comes home! His manners are always improved upon returning as well. She noticed Jax has above average sniffer so we had Mikayla come for a scent training. We can speak highly enough about how much the scent work has enriched our doggo! Mikayla is very knowledgeable and great at passing that information to us as well!”
– Nate K.

About the Trainer

Canine Coach Academy is a dog training business led by Mikayla Cisneros, who specializes in helping dog owners build strong, trusting relationships with their dogs through personalized training. They offer three main programs: Board and Train (2-3 week intensive residential training), Private Lessons (five 90-minute sessions with homework and customized plans), and the self-paced Canine Core Curriculum for owners who want to train their dogs independently. Mikayla focuses on balanced training that prioritizes relationship-building, motivation, and clear communication, drawing from her experience training her own German Shepherd, Rogue. Services include behavior modification for reactivity, resource guarding, anxiety, and excessive barking, as well as basic obedience, recall, and leash walking. Board and Train includes a place cot, walking tools, daily updates, and lifetime trainer support. Private lessons occur in-home and in real-world environments like parks and trails. Mikayla also offers scent training and is known for her responsive communication via text, email, and phone. She is currently on maternity leave until October 31st and refers clients to trusted local trainers during this time.

The business emphasizes long-term success by empowering owners with the skills to maintain training at home, and all programs are tailored to individual dog needs and goals.

Additional services include pet boarding during Board and Train programs, and equipment such as e-collars, place cots, and walking tools are available for purchase.

Mikayla’s philosophy centers on creating a dog that wants to work with its owner through trust, not fear, and she has helped dogs of all temperaments, including stubborn, anxious, and reactive breeds.

She is passionate about continuing Rogue’s legacy by transforming the lives of dogs and their families through thoughtful, individualized training.

Clients frequently praise her patience, knowledge, responsiveness, and ability to connect with both dogs and owners.

Accomplishments

Mikayla Cisneros trained her own German Shepherd, Rogue, from a highly reactive, untrained dog into a well-behaved companion with a bomb-proof recall and off-leash freedom, hiking hundreds of miles together. This personal success story inspired her to found Canine Coach Academy and has become the foundation of her training philosophy. She has helped numerous dogs overcome severe behavioral issues, including reactivity and resource guarding, with consistent client testimonials highlighting her effectiveness.

How to Get Started!
