Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Balanced Training
The 2-Week Board and Train Program teaches dogs to behave inside the home and on short walks. It covers fundamentals like potty-training, kennel-training, recall, sit, down, off, leave it, place, door manners, and general doggy manners. It also addresses common unwanted behaviors such as jumping, chewing, barking, mouthing, counter-surfing, and rough playing. This program includes one private lesson and one follow-up lesson with the owner.
The 3-Week Board and Train Program aims for a well-behaved dog in all settings and can address behavior modification issues like anxiety, fear, and reactivity. The first week covers fundamentals. The second week focuses on public settings, expanding on learned skills in distracting environments like beaches, restaurants, and shopping centers, with an emphasis on polite leash-walking. The third and final week is a transitional week, continuing work on any problem areas both in home and in public settings, and includes up to 3 private lessons at the owner’s home.
The Service Animal Training and Registration is a 3-week program designed to teach future service animals everything they need to accompany their owners everywhere. The first week covers fundamentals. The second and third weeks involve training in new and unfamiliar locations full of distractions, ensuring the dog can concentrate on their task. This program is tailored to specific needs, with daily communication and owner involvement. Upon completion, clients receive official ESA Certification for their dog. Not every dog will qualify for this program.
Private Lessons are 1-1.5 hour sessions perfect for consultations, addressing specific problem behaviors, or working on commands. These lessons take place at the location of the owner’s choice.

Testimonials
“Chris is an amazing trainer! He transformed my pup, from one having a lot of behavioral issues in public (jumping, incessant barking) into a gentle, obedient, best-he-can-be pup within weeks! And Chris’s training has solidified and strengthened my bond with my best friend!”
– Barbara Siefken
“I cannot recommend Chris enough! He took my disobedient dog to a very loyal and obedient best friend. Chris knows what he is doing and does it well! Very knowledgeable and positive person!”
– Brandon Johnson
“Chris helped each member of our family to understand the importance of learning our dog’s communication style. Molly is a very intelligent and hyperactive standard poodle who, thanks to Chris is now well-behaved and capable of walking on a leash without trying to break free.”
– Elizabeth Ward
