Canine Counseling

Canine Counseling offers tailored training packages for puppies and adult dogs. Puppy packages, “The Social Puppy” (5 sessions) and “The Polished Puppy” (7 sessions), are for dogs under 10 months and cover basic obedience, cooperative care, socialization, and life skills. Adult dog packages, “Manners & More” (1, 3, or 5 sessions), are for dogs over 6 months and focus on basic obedience, leash walking, and life skills. Behavioral Modification packages (1, 3, or 5 sessions) are for dogs over 6 months with complex issues like reactivity, aggression, phobias, and separation anxiety. Virtual consultations are also available for all behavior issues. All sessions are 55 minutes long.

Payment for sessions or packages is due in full upon completion of the first session. Virtual consultations are individually priced. Training is offered in packages of 1, 3, 5, or 7 sessions, each 55 minutes long.

Policies

Payment for sessions or packages is due in full upon completion of the first session. Completed sessions are non-refundable, but pro-rated refunds for packages may be issued in cases of genuine emergency, conflict of interest, or the death/rehoming of the dog. Sessions can be rescheduled or canceled without penalty with more than 48 hours’ notice; less than 48 hours’ notice results in forfeiture of the session, except in exceptional circumstances. Puppy packages must be completed within four months, and other packages within six months, or unused sessions are forfeited.

Canine Counseling uses positive reinforcement methods exclusively; punitive methods and aversive equipment like choke, pinch, prong, or e-collars are not permitted in training sessions. Clients are responsible for consistent practice outside of sessions and for their dog’s safety at all times. Extending leashes are not allowed. Children are welcome with adult supervision, and the adult is responsible for their safety. Dogs should be protected against disease and parasites, and owners must inform the trainer of any health issues or allergies.

The trainer may use photos/videos and feedback for marketing unless clients opt out. All homework and educational materials provided are the exclusive property of Canine Counseling LLC and cannot be redistributed. Services may be terminated without notice in rare cases, such as if the owner does not carry out appropriate training, exhibits abusive behavior, uses aversive methods, or contradicts the terms. In such cases, any remaining sessions will be refunded minus $100, or no refund if the balance is less than $100.

Frankie Jackson, owner and behavior specialist, holds a Zoology degree from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She is a registered Veterinary Nurse with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, having worked in various veterinary environments for a decade. She earned postgraduate certifications in Animal Behavior (Canine & Feline) in 2019 and Puppy Development & Behavior in 2020. In 2022, she achieved CCPDT certification as a Canine Behavior Consultant, one of only 12 in Georgia. She also completed Mike Shikashio’s Master Course in Aggression in 2025.

How to Get Started!

To get started, clients can email, text, or submit the contact form. It is encouraged to read the policies, terms, and conditions beforehand. For dogs with a bite history, clients are asked to secure the dog in another room, behind a baby gate, or in a pen, and to use a well-fitted muzzle. For dogs anxious around strangers, outdoor meetings are preferred. For home visits, clients should arrange for their dog to be in a safe room away from the front door upon the trainer’s arrival.
