Their training philosophy is balanced, first inspiring behaviors with motivation, then conditioning them through both positive and negative reinforcement, using as much positive reinforcement as possible and as little negative reinforcement as needed. The training process involves four phases: foundational training (imprinting drives, developing biting and fighting skills), teaching specific skills (advanced obedience, handler protection), functionality (applying skills in real-world scenarios), and integration (ensuring performance across various mindsets, physiologies, and environments).

Custom-tailored training is available either before dog delivery or by trainers at the client’s home. The Elite Family & Estate Protection Dog program focuses on optimal protection for worst-case scenarios, emphasizing threat deterrence and liability mitigation through strategic commands like “POLICE” and “Knock it Off,” along with advanced biting, fighting, and handler protection skills. The Executive Protection Dog program provides impeccable manners, complete off-leash control, and basic protection skills (turn on, attack, turn off) taught at an advanced level, with a focus on responding to passive threats.

Pricing Summary

Canine Protection International offers three training programs with varying price points based on the dog’s ability, training level, structure, and titles. The CPI Obedience program starts at $45,000. Executive Protection Dogs start at $100,000. Elite Family & Estate Protection Dogs start at $125,000. In-home handling instruction for clients throughout the United States and abroad is available for an additional fee.

They also offer customized protection training, such as teaching a dog to show aggression only when someone tries to enter a car or to direct an attack towards a specific threat.

Beyond training, they also offer raw dog food and related products. To begin the process, clients are asked to fill out a comprehensive online questionnaire to help CPI understand their specific needs, expectations, and personal preferences. Following this, a brief but thorough phone call is conducted to select the right dog and appropriate training program.
