Testimonials

We sent our 11-month-old Cane Corso, Tater, to Kaylee and Jake for a two-week board and train, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! He stayed right in their home, which made such a big difference compared to a big facility — you can tell he was treated like part of the family. Our main focus was refreshing obedience and working through some anxiety and fear-based reactivity. The progress he made in just two weeks is amazing. Kaylee was super communicative the whole time with updates a few times a week and always willing to answer questions. What we loved most was how she tailored everything to our dog — not a one-size-fits-all program. She really understood his personality and helped him gain confidence while teaching us how to keep things consistent at home. Highly recommend Kaylee and Jake to anyone looking for real results and a positive, personalized training experience!.

We recently completed a 3-week board and train program at Canine Unifursity with our dog, Bella, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Bella had been struggling with leash walking, anxiety and fearfulness, but Kaylee worked wonders with her. She took the time to understand her needs and tailored the training specifically to help her overcome these challenges. Throughout the program, they kept us well-informed with regular updates via video and text, which gave us confidence that Bella was in great hands. Not only did she work diligently with Bella, but Kaylee also made sure to train us as well, providing thorough guidance on how to continue supporting her progress at home. The communication and care from her was exceptional, and we are beyond grateful for Kaylee’s expertise. Bella has made remarkable strides, and we feel so much more equipped to help her moving forward. We Highly recommend Canine Unifursity for anyone looking to address their dog’s behavioral issues with a caring and professional team! Kaylee and Jake are just extraordinary, you can tell they really love what they do. They put their all into the dogs in their care. They are so extraordinary I’m convinced if I would’ve sent Bella for the 6 week training session she would’ve came home knowing how to do laundry and the dishes. I honestly can’t say enough good about Canine Unifursity. I will never have another dog that isn’t trained by Kaylee. Thanks for everything.

Boy oh boy, I do not even know where to start!! Tess is our first puppy and let me tell you, WE had a lot more learning to do than she did! We did not even know where to begin with training. We are so lucky to have found Kaylee and her whole team!! They have really tapped into Tess’ potential and she is an incredible pup – and still learning every day!! We completed her off leash training recently (I think that marks three total weeks of training, give or take a few days), and we love the idea that we can bring her back for refresher weeks to sharpen her skills. It is so nice to have her attentive on walks, responding to recall, and the “place” command has been invaluable!! She does that very, very well. I have to confess, that I am not the most diligent trainer, but that makes us even more grateful for Kaylee and the crew! They have trained us as much as they have trained our pup, and we are slowly and steadily working more with Tess at home. More than anything we are at peace knowing that Tess is happy, well taken care of and loved while we are not with her. Several times we had question after we picked Tess up and Kaylee always responded quickly with thorough explanations and made herself available to help us in an ongoing nature which we really, really appreciate (and need!).

About the Trainer

Canine Unifursity Dog Training is a family-run dog training business based in Michigan that empowers dog owners to build lifelong, positive relationships with their pets through integrated training and owner education. They offer personalized board and train programs, private lessons, and puppy group classes, all designed to address everything from basic obedience to complex behavioral issues like reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety, and nipping. Their unique advantage is training dogs in a home environment rather than a facility, treating each dog as part of the family, and providing frequent video updates to owners throughout the program. They also offer intensive go-home sessions to educate owners on maintaining progress, ensuring long-term success. Dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes are welcome, and owners often return for refresher training or boarding. Their approach is highly personalized, with no one-size-fits-all programs, and they emphasize ongoing support and communication.

They specialize in behavior modification for issues like leash pulling, jumping, stealing food, fearfulness, and recall, and their programs are tailored to the dog’s personality and needs. They also offer puppy-specific training for dogs 5 months and younger, and their board and train programs range from 1 to 6 weeks depending on the goal. Their team is deeply invested in the dogs’ well-being and the owners’ success, creating a supportive, lifelong partnership.

In addition to training, they provide pet boarding services, allowing dogs to return to their home-like environment for stays. They do not offer grooming, walking, daycare, or other pet services beyond training and boarding.

Accomplishments

Graduated dogs include puppies as young as 5 months completing advanced obedience, leash walking, and off-leash recall; dogs with severe behavioral issues like counter surfing, stealing, and aggression have shown dramatic turnarounds in as little as 3 weeks. Clients report long-term success and improved family dynamics post-training.
