Citadel K9

We booked a training block through CitadelK9 several months ago. What a great experience. Alex Burch is an awesome trainer and was able to instill a solid set of rules for our high-energy Labrador. She truly came back a different, more well-behaved dog than she left and the training was worth every penny. But it didn’t stop there. Over the next few months Alex has stayed in touch and has continued OUR training to make sure that we were doing our part in our pup’s life. Top notch outfit that I can’t recommend highly enough. Simply amazing that we went from a dog bouncing off the walls to a dog I feel comfortable off-leash in a matter of a few short weeks.

My wife and I reached out to Josh to have Citadel K9 help us with training our 10 month old Golden Retriever puppy. Josh called and texted us immediately to learn more about our situation and what we were looking for in training. We brought our puppy in for a brief screening and we knew right away that he was going to be in great hands. After just two weeks of training, we’ve seen drastic behavioral improvements as well as being more responsive and overall a much more obedient dog which is exactly what we were looking for. I would recommend Citadel K9’s Obedience training to anyone in a similar position and should we get another dog at some point in the future, we will absolutely be bringing them back. Thank you!

We looked for a long time for the right trainer to bring our dog to. We have friends who have had some really horrendous experiences with board and train, so it was important we found a place that would treat our dog like a member of their own family.

We cannot express in words how happy we are with Citadel K9. Josh took our dog in and treated him like a king. We got multiple text updates with pictures and videos over the two week period. Most importantly, he came home and was so well trained that we’re at a loss for how a person can train a dog this well that quickly. In two weeks he learned sit, down, heel, and “no”. His recall is so strong we have immediately taken him off leash at public parks to play fetch and have zero issues. He now has “door manners” and won’t walk through a doorway without being “released”. He walks at our hip for the entirety of our walks. He even treats our cat gentle, which is something we had zero success teaching him ourselves. His overall self-control and self-awareness is markedly improved, especially for a 6 month old puppy.

If you are even considering a board and train for your dog, we could not recommend Citadel K9 more strongly. I would have paid double the fee if I knew these would be the results. We could not be happier.
