I contacted Erin of Coastal Dog Training several weeks after I adopted a 6 month old Cockapoo. I knew at the time I adopted Winter that she was very timid. Thankfully only timid not mean. Erin has been a lifesaver! As seasonal residents it has not been easy getting our pups to adjust to their “not so familiar” environment. They are used to having a fenced in yard, and walks are REAL tough for us. Our 2-year-old Pit Mix is extremely reactive to other dogs, people and wildlife. It has caused tremendous anxiety for us. Thank goodness we found Erin and Coastal Dog Training. Erin is extremely knowledgeable about animal behavior and was really intuitive at identifying why our pup was behaving the way he was. She gave us easy to follow training recommendations that allowed us to better manage his reactivity. Instead of more aggressive tactics, she encourages positive affirmations and treats to train. She even brought another pup along to help with training; that was a huge success. We are still a work in progress, but feeling much more at ease.
