About the Trainer
Columbus All-Breed Training Club (CATC) is Central Ohio’s only AKC licensed, not-for-profit dog training club, dedicated to promoting training and responsible dog ownership. Founded in 1953, they have been helping people coexist with their dogs in a happy home for over 70 years. They teach owners to train their dogs, whether for household companionship or dog sport competition.
CATC offers classes for all levels, from Puppy Kindergarten and Beginning Obedience to advanced agility, competition obedience, rally, and specialty classes like Attention, Retrieve, Earthdog, Barn Hunt, and Scentwork/Tracking. They also provide Canine Good Citizen preparation and testing. The club boasts a private fenced training facility with two air-conditioned and heated buildings, allowing for up to six indoor classes at a time year-round. Building B has turf flooring, and there are two outdoor fenced rings.
With over 75 volunteer instructors and a diverse membership of over 500, CATC provides a friendly community of dog lovers and enthusiasts. The majority of veterinarians in Central Ohio highly recommend their classes. They also host AKC and BHA Trials and offer social activities and picnics.

How to Get Started!
To begin, prospective clients can enroll in a Puppy Kindergarten or Beginning Obedience course through an Apprentice Membership. For Elected Membership, applicants must submit an application signed by two current CATC members in good standing, pay annual dues, and meet one of three criteria: completion of a CATC Beginning Obedience class within the last two calendar years, prior Elected Membership within the last two dues years, or demonstration of basic obedience training skills to the Director of Training (which incurs a transfer fee). Applications are voted on by the Board of Trustees.
