About the Trainer

Committed Canine is a small business operated by Tammie and Robert Rogers, who are professional dog trainers and educators. They became full-time trainers in 2001 with DarnFar Ranch, LLC, and launched Committed Canine in 2011 to focus on their growing Service Dog work.

They specialize in training Service Dogs for psychiatric, medical response, and mobility disabilities, working with both children and adults. They also have a strong focus on assisting US military veterans. Committed Canine offers both fully trained Custom Service Dogs and a professionally guided owner-trained program called T.E.A.C.H. (Train & Educate A Canine Helper).

Additionally, they provide training for Professional Therapy Dogs for teachers, counselors, or therapists who wish to utilize a highly trained dog in their practice. They apply the same high training standards to these dogs as they do to Service Dogs. The business also breeds specific crosses (Sheepadoodles) as potential Service Dogs through their Intention Canine venture.

Accomplishments

Robert D. Rogers served with the US Marine Corps from 1973-1982 and has over 20 years of experience as a professional dog trainer, specializing in the rehabilitation of anti-social/aggressive dogs. He is also a Therapy Dog handler.

Tammie L. Rogers has over 35 years of experience training dogs. She holds a BA in Biology, worked as a Biologist in Corporate America, and is a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP). She is an American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine-Good-Citizen (CGC) Evaluator, a former Certified Instructor for PetTech™: Pet First Aid / CPR, and a former Tester/Observer for Therapy Dogs, Inc.

Tammie is also a former Test and Trial Judge for American Herding Breeds Association (AHBA) Livestock herding events and an author of multiple dog training books, including ‘Dog Algebra’ and ‘Dog Training & Tricks’. Together, Robert and Tammie co-founded DarnFar Ranch, LLC in 2001 and Committed Canine in 2011, training their first Service Dog in 2003. They were recognized by the Army National Guard for their volunteer work providing information about Service Dogs to returning service members.
