About the Trainer
Comprehensive Pet Therapy (CPT) is a highly respected pet training company that has been operating since 1992, training over 50,000 client dogs and close to 100 cats. Their mission is to create a strong partnership between dogs and owners, offering a wide range of services to improve pet obedience and behavior.
CPT provides professional training for dogs of any age, whether clients desire a more obedient pet, wish to show their dog in competition, or need to solve annoying behavioral problems. They emphasize cognitive methods rather than force, aiming for a positive and motivational training experience for both pet and owner.
The staff is highly accomplished, with Head Trainers and most Staff Trainers having titled dogs in competition and earned collegiate degrees, including graduate degrees. They are educated and experienced in teaching basic obedience and resolving common household behavioral problems, and are skilled at communicating effectively with clients.
CPT also engages in groundbreaking government-funded research projects in conjunction with Dog Star Technologies and Emory University’s neuroscience department, which have advanced the understanding of the canine mind and improved protocols for service and military explosive detection dogs. They are referred by over 80 Atlanta area veterinary clinics and anticipate similar success in Eugene, Oregon, where they opened a satellite location in June 2018.
Beyond dog training, CPT offers feline behavior modification and expert witness services. They can accommodate clients nationwide and in Canada through board training, in-home visits by a trainer, or virtual instruction.
