Testimonials
I met Meredith and others, all personable and pleasant and knowledgeable but they were not the trainers for us as I don’t want to use an e collar and i also don’t want to use a prong collar. Google forces you to supply a rating if giving a comment but my rating 3 is meaningless supplied only to allow me to post my comment.

About the Trainer
Connecticut Canine Services is a full-service police and working dog kennel and training facility owned and operated by Meridith Vallillo and Gary D’Hue, who bring over 40 years of combined professional and competitive experience. They select, import, train, and sell over 100 dogs annually, specializing in police, military, protection, detection, search and rescue, sport, and companion dogs. The business offers board and train programs for police K-9s, movie and film dogs, service dogs, protection dogs, and companion/pet dogs. They also sell puppies and adult dogs, including German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds, and Labrador Retrievers. While they provide training services, their primary focus is on breeding and selling high-performance dogs for professional and elite use, with some programs tailored for companion pets.
They serve a wide range of clients including law enforcement agencies, military units, VIPs, and private individuals across multiple states. Their facility is located in Bethany, CT, and they emphasize quality, customer service, and long-term satisfaction. Though they list companion dog training, their marketing heavily emphasizes working and protection dogs, suggesting their training programs are best suited for owners seeking high-level performance or protection capabilities.
The business does not explicitly describe training methods for pet owners, but client reviews mention concerns about e-collars and prong collars, implying these tools may be used in some programs. They do not advertise positive reinforcement-only methods.
Additional services include dog sales, puppy availability, and TV/film dog placement. They do not mention grooming, walking, daycare, or boarding as standalone services, though board and train is offered as part of training programs.
Accomplishments
Meridith Vallillo and Gary D’Hue have earned national and international recognition through championship events, celebrity clientele, film and television work, and seminars. They supply dogs to multiple police departments, military bases, and federal agencies including NYPD, US Park Police, and Lackland Air Force Base.
