Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Positive Reinforcement Only

Considerate K9 offers three distinct training programs: Private One-on-One Training, Stay and Train Doggy Day Care, and Board and Train Programs. All programs begin with a personalized evaluation to understand the client’s situation and the dog’s temperament.

Private One-on-One Training sessions are held at their facility, providing individualized guidance for the pet and owner. The Stay and Train Doggy Day Care is a 10-day intensive program for dogs aged 6 months and older, involving daily drop-off and pick-up (9 am-5 pm), with all commands worked on, and includes 4 private sessions with owners. Shuttle service is available for an additional fee. The Board and Train Programs are highly immersive, 24/7 options for dogs aged 6 months and older, focusing on all commands, heavy socialization, and include after-training support and training tools. These programs are available for 2, 4, or 6 weeks.

Training goals can include basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, down, come, heel, look, and leave it. They also address confidence building, environmental desensitization, and fear reduction.

About the Trainer

Considerate K9 is a family-owned and operated dog training business founded in 2019 by Jared Diaz, located in Greenbrier, Tennessee, serving the greater Nashville area. Their mission is to build strong connections with the community and customers, provide consistent service and results, and show compassion for customers, their pets, and their team.

They offer a personalized approach, taking the time to fully understand each client’s situation, needs, environment, and goals for their dog(s). They also assess each dog’s temperament, confidence levels, health, and other factors that can affect obedience expectations and outcomes.

Considerate K9 provides three main types of training: private one-on-one sessions at their facility, a 10-day intensive Stay and Train Doggy Day Care program, and comprehensive Board and Train programs lasting 2, 4, or 6 weeks. They aim to teach both the human and their K9 companion, reducing learning barriers and fostering a healthy, harmonious, and symbiotic relationship.

The business prides itself on convenience, proactive customer service, and providing value. They emphasize trust, reputation, and consistency in their operations. While they currently offer board and train, their future vision is to become a full-service dog obedience and boarding facility.

Accomplishments

Jared Diaz, the owner of Considerate K9, founded the business in 2019 after interning with a dog trainer for three months in 2018. He has almost 5 years of professional dog training experience.

Jared has extensively studied successful trainers who share his philosophy, including Robert Cabral, Ed Frawley of Leerburg Academy, and Sean O’Shea from The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation, by taking their online courses and watching hundreds of hours of their free video content. He has also authored and designed a free dog training e-book.

How to Get Started!

The first step to training with Considerate K9 is to book a personalized evaluation. This evaluation can be booked independently if a client is unsure about the type of training needed, or it is included in all training packages. During this evaluation, experienced dog trainers assess the dog’s behavior and recommend next steps.
