Testimonials
We have been thrilled with our experience at Courteous K9. When we got our puppy we made sure to enroll her in Foundations 1 “Puppy class”, Foundations 2, and Foundations 3. We are now in Toy Play Class. She goes to Day Training 5 days a week as well. All of this instruction has molded our puppy into such an obedient dog! We have loved all of our trainers and it is evident they really care for our pup.
– Client
Highly recommend the dog training classes. We have a GSP that started going to classes at 8 weeks old. We are complimented everywhere we go about how good of a dog she is! Anybody who has owned a GSP know they are a bundle of wound up energy, but with the help of the trainers she is a joy to have inside our home. Lastly I highly recommend looking into the boarding and training package. It was a relief to know that our pup was getting training, dog play, and exercise when we were gone! Not the typical boarding where she was in a kennel the entire time.

Courteous K9 is amazing! They are very knowledgeable trainers who are great with classes, daycare, advice, and boarding (haven’t used boarding yet). We have taken our 3 dogs to them, all with very different personalities and the trainers can handle it all! They use great tools and give you advice on them as well. Great facility and love that they will trim our dogs nails or give them a bath. We love sending our dogs to daycare because they are well taken care of, behavior is managed by knowledgeable trainers to avoid incidents, and they have a training session during the day. It’s difficult to find any place like Courteous K9!

About the Trainer
Courteous K9 is a dog training business based in Rochester, MN, offering a comprehensive range of services to help dog owners build well-behaved, confident companions. They provide group classes for all skill levels—from puppy foundations to advanced obedience and sport training—as well as day training, board & train programs, private lessons, and online learning through their CK9 Membership. Their unique advantage lies in their balanced training approach, combining positive reinforcement with tools like e-collars, prong collars, and toys to tailor methods to each dog’s needs. They emphasize educating owners as much as training dogs, ensuring long-lasting results. Additional services include dog daycare with structured training sessions during the day, nail trims, and baths. They accept puppies as young as 5 months and work with adolescents, adults, and seniors, handling all breeds including high-energy herding and sporting dogs.
They specialize in addressing reactivity, leash pulling, recall, separation anxiety, and basic obedience, with specialized programs like Reactive Remedy Private Lessons for dog-dog reactivity. Their facility-based programs include agility, nosework, toy play, and Mondioring obedience. They require up-to-date vaccinations and do not allow personal belongings during boarding. Their trainers are experienced and certified, with a strong focus on clear communication, consistency, and client support.
Clients praise the transformative results, noting their dogs become calmer, more responsive, and better behaved both at home and in public. Many combine group classes with daily daycare for maximum progress.
