All training programs are customized to the unique dog and owner goals, focusing on quality and providing a low-stress environment. The full immersion program maintains a 1:1 trainer to dog ratio.

Board & Train programs offer a home-away-from-home approach, designed for busy professionals and families, proactive dog owners, frequent travelers, those experiencing behavioral concerns, and puppy owners seeking a strong foundation.

The Day Camp program allows dogs to learn, socialize, and train with professional trainers at their facility in downtown River Falls. Enrollment numbers are kept small to ensure individualized attention and care. This program is presented as an alternative to traditional doggie daycare, emphasizing structured learning over unstructured play.

Group Classes are available to actively enrolled Academy Members and are part of the Jumpstart Program. These programs are designed to teach owners how to be their own dog’s trainer, providing access to an extensive online library, group discussions, and in-person workshops and socials. Private lessons and in-home training sessions are also offered.

Crystal Clear Canine Training is a dog training business founded in 2011 by Crystal Close, who serves as the Head Trainer, Founder & CEO. Accomplishments

Crystal Close, the Head Trainer, Founder & CEO, is a Certified Canine Training & Behavior Specialist and Aggression Specialist. She is an AKC CGC Evaluator (#96988) and a Dog Pro Coach. Crystal is a graduate of the prestigious Triple Crown Academy (now Starmark Academy), where she completed an apprenticeship, served as a member of the training department, conducted group classes, private lessons, and trained dogs in the board and train program. She also wrote curriculum for and acted as the Distance Education Instructor for two extensive distance education programs at the academy. Crystal founded Crystal Clear Canine Training in 2011 and opened Crystal Clear Canine Academy in 2018. She is recognized as an industry leader and dog behavior expert, working with dog owners and other trainers globally.

Colleen Van Deurzen is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Behavior Specialist, and AKC CGC Evaluator (#97540). She is also Certified in Pet First Aid & CPR. Colleen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with majors in Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine, and a graduate of The Michael Ellis School of Dog Training in California. She and her corgi, Echo, are a certified therapy dog team through Therapy Dogs International (TDI).
