Curiosity Satisfied Dog Camp offers individualized training programs focusing on leadership and communication rather than tricks, gadgets, force, fear, or repetitive tasks. The training aims to address the root cause of a dog’s behavior, helping owners understand their dog’s thoughts and communicate effectively through body language, verbal tones, and eye contact.

Programs cover behavioral concerns such as leash pulling, barking, biting, and not coming when called, as well as command training like sit, down, stay, walk, and come. The Foundation Package includes an in-home evaluation, a customized training plan, basic command review, printed material on “5 things your dogs look at to decide who is in charge,” and techniques to handle testing behaviors without treats, fear, or pain.

The Extensive/Focused Package builds on the Foundation Package with additional one-on-one sessions for more in-depth work on specific behaviors or advanced commands. Live Online Video Training provides a private, customized class for those outside the service area, offering digital training material and live Q&A. All in-home packages include lifetime support, while online video training includes 3 months of support.

Testimonials

“Steve worked with our rambunctious 13 week old puppy. She is constant energy and poor behavior. Steve had her calm and happy by the end of the session. I learned so much about how we can do better and really appreciated Steve’s knowledge and insights. He was generous with his time and our puppy, who has roughly a 10 second attention span, watched him leave and stayed at the door until he drove away, her new best friend! I can’t thank Steve enough, I feel much more confident in my ability to restore order in our home.”

“Hi Steve! I just thought I’d give you an an update on the dogs since it’s been a year since you’ve seen them last. They are doing amazing! Ivy is a completely different dog and I don’t live in constant anxiety that a fights going to break out. You helped me prove to everyone that she was worth saving and helped me create the dog I knew she always was. There has been no fights or any violent behavior in over a year. Ivy can be in situations that would normally result in her fighting and I tell her to go lay down and she’ll walk away. I really can’t believe it. Sometimes she even removes herself from a situation before I even say anything which is incredible. Also, I finally found an allergy med that works wonders for Bailey and he’s a completely different dog. He’s back to his sassy and crazy self with all his hair. So I’ve had to work a lot with him the last couple of months to get him to chill out a bit because he was really testing Ivy sometimes. I really can’t thank you enough! You changed my life and my dog’s lives! I’m now able to live in peace and enjoy activities with the dogs and not be worried about something happening. Thanks again for everything!”

“Steve came out to help me with my two German Shepherds. My male is 2yrs old and my puppy is 5 months. We have the basics down but Steve showed me how to take it to a whole new level! My male is very leash reactive and the tools that Steve gave me are going to be a real game changer. His 5 Golden Rules made so much sense and we are going to be implementing them immediately. I already feel more confident. I have owned many large dogs over the years and have used countless trainers. Steve is the best one I have ever encountered! He is patient and kind and I felt like it was worth every penny.”

About the Trainer

Steve Comando, a dog trainer and behaviorist, operates Curiosity Satisfied Dog Camp. He offers dog training focused on owner education and dog communication, aiming to transform dog behavior through trust and respect. His methods are described as simple, effective, kind, and gentle, fostering a closer bond between owners and their dogs without relying on force, fear, or gadgets like shock, prong, or choke collars.

Steve’s primary goal is to help people live in harmony with their dogs without stress, frustration, or embarrassment caused by misbehavior. He teaches owners how to become worthy leaders their dogs will choose to obey, not out of fear, but because they trust and respect their human. He emphasizes understanding why dogs behave the way they do and addressing the root cause of issues.

He provides in-home customized training and online video consultations, offering lifetime support for his in-home packages and 3-month support for online training. Steve’s approach helps owners gain their dog’s attention and focus, leading to noticeable changes in behavior often within two weeks or less, with continued improvement over time through consistent application of his “5 Golden Rules” or “5 exercises.”

Accomplishments

Steve Comando is a certified dog trainer and behaviorist with a lifelong passion for dogs. He gained inspiration from his aunt, who trained service dogs. He completed his certification after spending about a year learning from several trainers. His experience includes working with his own Rottweilers, learning about earning a dog’s trust and respect, and previously operating a dog walking business where he worked with dogs off-leash on impulse control and recall.
