Phenomenal people to work with. I have a 6 month old very shy St. Bernard pup who barks at people. I booked a private lesson with Bill Oliver. He had car issues and so I worked with Sara (who is the person answering the phone and tending to the dogs in the kennel). Sara is a fantastic listener and she showed me how to use a 6 foot leash and control my pup’s space. Meanwhile, at no extra charge they rescheduled with Bill. On that lesson we went to Hinckley Reservoir. Bill taught me how to heel the dog. My pup did not bark once at people or other dogs- go figure. I came away with a lot of things to work on to keep him on the right track. Top notch instructions, fairly easy to follow. Highly recommend working with Sara and Bill.

Custom Canine, founded by Bill Oliver, is a dog training business with over 30 years of experience helping dog owners solve behavioral issues and build strong, positive relationships with their pets. Bill began his career in the U.S. Air Force’s Canine Corps, where he earned honors in National Police Dog Trials, and has since dedicated his life to practical, results-driven dog training. He offers private lessons in the home or at his facility, as well as intensive two-week in-kennel training programs where dogs live with him and learn obedience and home behavior skills, followed by private lessons for owners to maintain progress. Bill is known for his success in modifying aggressive and reactive behaviors, with a strong referral network from veterinarians. He also trains dogs for service roles, film and television, and has contributed to the community through school visits and the Cell Dog Program at Trumbull County Correctional Facility.
In addition to training, Custom Canine provides training equipment and supplies, and offers boarding services during intensive training programs. Their approach emphasizes personalized, hands-on instruction tailored to each dog’s needs and the owner’s lifestyle, making them a trusted choice for families, rescue owners, and those dealing with challenging behaviors.
