About the Trainer
Daisy Dog Academy provides dog training services in the high desert region, serving Hesperia, Victorville, Apple Valley, Phelan, and Adelanto. The academy, founded in 2003 by instructor Cindy Clark, focuses on positive reinforcement-based training to build trust, improve communication skills, and enhance the relationship between dogs and their owners.
Cindy Clark transitioned to positive training after experiencing the limitations of traditional methods with her own sensitive dog. She advocates for reward-based training, preferring motivation through rewards over punishment, and exclusively uses buckle collars.
Classes are held on her private 2 ½ acre fenced-in property, which is not open to the public, ensuring a safe environment, particularly for puppies who have not completed their immunizations. Daisy Dog Academy also produces and sells dog training platforms inspired by Michele Pouliot, available through K9 Play Products.
Accomplishments
The instructor, Cindy Clark, opened Daisy Dog Academy in 2003. She began her dog training experience two years prior through an apprenticeship. She became certified with the Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) in 2006 and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).
Cindy Clark furthered her education by attending seminars by renowned experts in animal behavior, including Karen Pryor, Ian Dunbar, Trish King, Gail Fisher, Kathy Sdao, and Morgan Spector. She also attended several Clicker Expos and the APDT Conference.
