Testimonials
My dog Turks just finished a two-week board and train with Dana, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. She worked with him on desensitizing to new situations, loud noises, being in public, and being calm around other dogs — and the progress has been amazing!
My other dog, Amigo, stayed for boarding for a week and came home with new skills, too. Dana runs her program out of her home on several beautiful acres, which gave both dogs plenty of space to explore and decompress. She clearly invests a lot of time and care into every dog, even with others boarding at the same time.
Both of my dogs came home more confident, relaxed, and connected to me — and it’s clear they were loved and well cared for. I’m so grateful for Dana’s patience, expertise, and the personalized attention she gives each pup.
If you’re looking for a trainer who truly treats your dogs like family while helping them grow, I can’t recommend Dana’s Canine Connection enough!

We were looking at euthanasia for our reactive and aggressive dog (per vet recommendation) and we couldn’t take to pound bc of where we live. We had no other options and Dana literally saved their lives.. they are completely different animals. Dana was very professional and knowledgeable in this field. We looked at other trainers before meeting her and it would have cost us THOUSANDS! In a matter of a couple of sessions and our dogs were different dogs.. it was night and day!!

I have used in home and board and train services. My 5 month old puppy responded to Dana on the first in home training. She has never even looked at my coffee table again when Dana told my dog to “leave it.” My puppy stayed for 7 days/nights and literally came home a different dog. She was so hyper and not crate trained and didn’t walk on a leash. When I came to get her she was laying down minding her own business. She sleeps all night in the crate and knows a lot of basic commands. I highly recommend Dana for all your animal training needs!

About the Trainer
Dana’s Canine Connection is a dog training business run by Dana, a trainer with over 20 years of experience in dog behavior, rehabilitation, and rescue. She offers private in-home training and board-and-train services designed to improve communication between dogs and their owners using a balanced training method. Dana specializes in behavioral modification for issues like reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety, leash pulling, and fearfulness, helping dogs that are at risk of surrender or euthanasia due to behavioral problems. She also provides boarding services exclusively for current or previous training clients, in a home setting on several acres of land. Dana has a strong background in animal welfare, having founded and operated a successful no-kill rescue program for nearly 20 years, and is certified by HSUS in Animal Cruelty Training. Her services are tailored to puppies, adolescents, adults, and senior dogs, with a focus on creating balanced, well-behaved family pets.
Dana’s approach combines positive reinforcement with necessary corrections, ensuring dogs learn clear boundaries and commands like Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Leave It, and loose leash walking. She offers both one-time assessments and ongoing training sessions, with packages available for continued progress. Her clients report dramatic improvements in their dogs’ behavior, often within just a few sessions, and many credit her with saving their dogs’ lives.
In addition to training, Dana provides pet boarding and rescue-specific discounted programs for non-profit organizations, making her services accessible to those in need. Her home-based facility allows dogs to train and rest in a calm, family-like environment, which many owners note as a key advantage over traditional kennels.
Accomplishments
Dana founded and operated a successful no-kill animal rescue and adoption program for nearly 20 years, saving thousands of animals at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral issues. She is certified by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) in Animal Cruelty Training and has trained over 1,000 dogs with severe behavioral and medical challenges.
