Dandy Dog Training offers group classes grouped by level (1-3) and private lessons. Level 1 includes Beginner Basic (covering sit, down, stay, come, leash walking, sociability, housebreaking, leadership, crate training, and AKC Puppy S.T.A.R.) and Intermediate Basic (reviewing basics, adding expectations, and introducing AKC CGC exercises and dog sports like clicker, tricks, rally, canine fitness, nose work, agility).
Level 2, Advanced Basic, builds on beginner skills with higher expectations, off-leash control, and focuses on AKC CGC test skills. Level 3 classes are specialized, including “Tricks for Clicks” (learning tricks for AKC titles), “Dog Scents” (nose work for all ages), Rally (Beginner and Advanced), Agility (Foundation, Beginner, Intermediate, Master, Jump Class), Parkore, and Heeling to Music. Private lessons are available for puppy manners, behavioral problems, and advanced competitive training.

Pricing Summary
Group classes are held in seven-week sessions for $110. A ‘drop-in’ rate of $25 may be offered for Level 3 classes with advance approval. Private lessons cost $50 for the first meeting (approximately 1 hour), and follow-up 1/2 hour sessions are $30. The “CSC” Confidence and Self Control class is $100 per session.

The facility, opened in 2004, spans 11 acres with a 4800 sq ft main room and a 1400 sq ft “Rainbow Room,” both equipped with Agiliflex mats and fully insulated for comfort. It also features a lighted 100′ x 120′ fenced agility field and a 60′ x 100′ fenced exercise field. They offer a wide range of group classes across three levels, from Beginner Basic to advanced competition-focused classes, as well as private lessons tailored for specific needs like puppy manners, behavioral problems, or competitive training. All instructors have extensive experience, with a combined 100+ years, and have competed at high levels, all adhering to the positive reinforcement philosophy.
Accomplishments
All instructors have a combined 100+ years of dog training experience and have competed at the highest levels of competition. Owner Joan Dandy has competed in obedience through Utility and Agility. Instructor Bridget McAlister is a CTDI (Certified Trick Dog Instructor) and RFE-CI (Certified Rally-FrEe Instructor), recognized as the first CTDI in the USA as “All-Star Trainer of the Year” in 2014, with her dogs earning numerous titles and championships. Kary Starling’s dog C-Sea qualified for AKC Nationals in 2006 as the #1 14-inch jumper on the PA Team. Bonnie Opal and her dogs have attended multiple AKC National Agility events, USDAA National, and the US Open, with her dog Lina being an alternative for the European Open Team in 2014.
