Testimonials

“Amanda’s handling system has me seeing and articulating all the little bits in between obstacles. Now, Jaxx and I stay connected, he knows where he’s going next, and the bars stay up!”
– Kit Erskine & Jaxx

“This is one awesome class! I’m learning to use and trust my peripheral vision so I feel confident about my location on the course, my timing has improved and I’m identifying things I need to put more training time in on. Wow!”
– Carol Fay Ballou & Juki

About the Trainer

Data Driven Agility is a dog agility training business led by Amanda Shyne, Ph.D., who helps handlers improve communication with their dogs to increase skills, confidence, speed, and accuracy in agility. Amanda offers online classes, in-person seminars and private lessons at her facility in Springfield, VT, and hosts agility trials on-site. Her training focuses on obstacle commitment, running contacts, weaves, handling lines, and teamwork between dog and handler. She has authored two acclaimed agility books published by Clean Run and provides exclusive instructional videos to enrolled students. The facility features both an outdoor 200×100 ft grass ring and an indoor 130×70 ft sand/clay arena, fully equipped with USDAA-approved equipment. Students benefit from a supportive community via the private Facebook Student Lounge and access to Amanda’s research-backed methods rooted in animal behavior science.

Amanda does not offer weekly group classes at this time but provides private and semi-private lessons by appointment. She also hosts full-day and half-day seminars with working and auditing spots available. Her approach emphasizes data-driven, individualized training tailored to each dog’s needs, with a strong focus on positive reinforcement and clear cueing.

Additional services include agility trials hosted at the facility, free public agility training videos, and articles from Clean Run. Amanda’s team includes technical and administrative support staff to manage online platforms and seminar logistics.
