Dog Training Methodology
Defender K9 offers a variety of training options including residency programs and private lessons. Residency programs range from 3 days to 2 weeks, and include behavior modification and off-leash training, with private lessons provided to teach owners leash control and maintenance.
Private lessons are scheduled in one-hour increments, suitable for shy dogs or those who don’t do well away from owners, focusing on teaching the owner how to train their dog over a longer period with crucial practice between sessions. They also offer an 8-hour PetTech Petsaver certification course for Pet CPR/First Aid, and other classes like ‘Keeping Kids Safe around dogs’ and ‘Walking and Hiking with Your Dog’.
Defender K9 is also an AKC CGC Evaluator, offering evaluations for STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Community Citizen, and Urban Community.
