Dependable Companions Dog Training

Dependable Companions Dog Training offers three main programs:

Private Lessons with a Boost: This program is for owners who want to learn how to train their dog or puppy. It includes 6 private, one-on-one lessons with Nikki at their facility once a week. Mid-way through, the dog stays for three accelerated training days. Equipment is included, along with membership to their client-only Facebook support group and continued help through Monday group classes ($25 a session).

Board and Train Hybrid Program: This program starts the training for the dog and teaches the owner how to continue at home. It typically takes a month to complete. The dog stays for two separate 4-day periods, with a lesson at the end of each stay to show the owner what to work on. Two additional one-on-one lessons are included for working around distractions. Commands covered include Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Place, and Come. Equipment (leather leash, prong, remote collar, Mutt Mat) is included, along with lifetime membership to Monday Night group classes, access to the private Facebook group, and online training videos.

Dependable Companion Lifetime Training Program: This intensive program is designed for busy owners who want accelerated training and long-term support. The dog stays for 18 days. Afterwards, three training sessions for the owner are conducted in their home or public locations. This program includes training equipment (leash, collar, remote collar, cot), field trip training sessions during the dog’s stay, unlimited private lessons for the lifetime of the dog, membership to group classes, and membership to the private client Facebook group and training videos. Free brush-up training is available during future boarding stays. Commands include Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Place, with focus on manners and eliminating unwanted habits like jumping, barking, and play-biting.

Group Sessions are available as an option after initial training, ideal for distraction work and skill maintenance.

Pricing Summary

Boarding rates are $30 per night, increasing to $33 per night effective May 1st, 2025. If a dog stays for more than 24 hours but only one night, the charge is $45. Daycare is $25 between 7am-6pm. Group classes are $25 per session after initial training, but are included for life with the Board and Train Hybrid and Dependable Companion Lifetime Training programs.

Dependable Companions Dog Training, LLC provides dog training and boarding services in East Liberty, Ohio. They aim to help dog owners turn their dogs’ behavior around and instill manners, addressing common problems like yelling at dogs, being ignored when called, stress from dog behavior with guests, and unpleasant walks.

They train both the dog and owner, offering various programs to fit different preferences and needs. All programs include access to a private Facebook group, training videos, and the option to participate in Monday group classes for continued support.

They can help with issues such as barking or lunging on walks, play-biting, jumping up, bad manners with guests, house training, coming when called, boosting confidence in shy dogs, and new puppy training. They also offer dog boarding and daycare services in their new heated/air-conditioned facility, which opened in May 2023.

Boarding includes 5 outdoor potty and playtime sessions daily, tracking of eating, potty schedule, and behavior, and updates for owners. Exit baths and nail trims are also available. They have been boarding dogs since 2017.

Accomplishments

Nikki Carpenter, the owner and trainer, is a 2006 graduate of National K-9 School for dog trainers. She is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and the National K-9 Graduates Association. Nikki is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and is canine CPR certified.

To get started, clients can fill out a contact form on the website, call, text, or email. Hours are by appointment. For boarding or daycare, clients can request dates and schedule through a client login portal.
