Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Positive Reinforcement Only
Diamond Dogs Training offers several programs tailored to different needs. The Board and Train program is a minimum 3-week stay where your dog lives with a Certified Professional Dog Trainer in their home, receiving consistent daily training on individual goals. Only one dog is taken at a time, ensuring primary focus, and weekly updates and follow-up private sessions are included.
Private Training involves one-on-one sessions with a Certified Professional Dog Trainer to address basic obedience, manners, puppy raising, socialization, advanced obedience, Canine Good Citizen preparation, therapy dog preparation, and trick training. They also specialize in Behavior Modification for issues such as anxiety, phobias, leash reactivity, resource guarding, isolation distress, and handling sensitivities. Weekly sessions are recommended for consistency and progress.
Puppy Preschool is designed for puppies 6 months and under, conducted in the comfort of your home with shorter sessions to accommodate their attention spans. This program covers essential skills like crate training, settling on a mat, recall, impulse control, body handling, husbandry, and leash walking. Both private and day training sessions are available for puppies.
Additionally, they provide limited In-home Boarding, where a small group of dogs stays in a family home setting rather than kennels. This service includes daily enrichment, supervised playtime, on-demand outdoor access, manners maintenance, around-the-clock care, and the option for uncrated overnight stays if preferred and potty trained. Dogs must meet specific criteria for boarding.

Policies
For Board and Train, they only take one dog at a time, which means space is limited and there may be a wait. In-home boarding is limited to a small group of dogs, and dogs must meet certain criteria to ensure an enjoyable stay.

About the Trainer
Diamond Dogs Training is a dog training business based in Fort Worth, Texas, dedicated to enhancing the bond between dogs and their owners. Their philosophy centers on force-free methods and positive reinforcement, adhering to the “least intrusive, minimally aversive” (LIMA) principles established by leading animal professionals. They are committed to using up-to-date, scientific methods and continuous learning to ensure the well-being of the dogs they work with.
The business offers a range of services including private training, board and train programs, puppy preschool, and pet sitting. They aim to establish realistic plans for clients, setting attainable goals to ensure success for both dogs and their people.
Unique advantages include their board and train program, where they only take one dog at a time to provide primary focus, and their limited in-home boarding which offers a family home setting instead of kennels, with options for uncrated overnight stays. They are certified professional dog trainers who believe that every trained dog is a saved dog, as behavior issues are a common reason for dogs ending up in shelters.
