Dave James, the primary trainer, has been training his own dogs since 1980 and began training professionally in 1996. Clients are invited to watch the training sessions and learn alongside their dogs.

Accomplishments
Dave James has been training his own dogs since 1980 and started training professionally in 1996. DJ & K’s Kennels competes in both AKC and UKC hunt tests. They have successfully produced numerous Grand Hunting Retrievers Champions (GRHRCH) and Hunting Retriever Champions (HRCH) in UKC, as well as Junior (JH), Senior (SR), and Master Hunters (MH) in AKC.
