Testimonials

“My husband and I acquired a “COVID” dog… Francie came back to us a calmer and more obedient dog. She seems to have grown into herself while staying with Sarah and she is so confident, adept and compliant. We can’t thank Sarah enough for her time and attention with Francie!”
– Patricia Crown

“Sarah has been a gift to our entire family, human and canine… What picking him up at the end of his 3-week stay showed us was that Sarah is as gifted a trainer of humans as of dogs.”
– Patricia Crown

“I cannot recommend Sarah highly enough… Sarah quickly identified the root of our pup’s “issues”, and no surprise, it was me. She gave me what felt like talk therapy sessions, clear instruction and tools to make sure my leadership skills don’t slide.”
– Kate Salzman

About the Trainer

Dog Days Farm is a unique, kennel-free boarding and training facility located on a 132-acre farm in Salem, New York, offering personalized dog training and behavioral services. Owned and operated by Sarah Todd, a nationally certified CPDT-KA trainer and former head trainer for the Monks of New Skete, the business specializes in Board & Train and Stay & Play programs where dogs live in a home-like environment alongside Sarah’s own Belgian Sheepdogs and cats. Dogs enjoy daily structured training, free play on 10 fully fenced acres, and hikes through 120 acres of forest, all while learning house manners and obedience. Sarah also provides in-home private training, behavioral consultations, and phone consultations tailored to individual dogs and their families. Her approach is rooted in positive reinforcement, with an emphasis on mutual respect, leadership, and understanding the dog’s individual needs. She has special expertise in herding breeds and behavioral issues including reactivity, fearfulness, and separation anxiety.

The facility is designed to let dogs be dogs—offering freedom, enrichment, and natural stimulation while building reliable behavior. Clients receive detailed post-stay reports and ongoing guidance to maintain progress at home. Dog Days Farm serves families across Upstate New York and Southern Vermont, including Glens Falls, Saratoga Springs, Albany, and Westchester County.
